DISCLAIMER: Flight 29 Down is, sadly, not mine.

The night was dark, the wind ripped and howled outside the tent as the rain threatened to tear apart the tiny shelter. But the tent was empty, she was all alone. Lightning cracked in the distance, followed the booming voice of thunder, Taylor shrieked and ran out into the rain.

"Hello? Anybody? " She called out, but the wind swept away her voice.

"Please, someone answer me!"

No response.

She ran frantically around the camp, she couldn't see in the darkness. Another bolt of lightning erupted in the sky, illuminating the camp and confirming her worst fears.

The plane was gone, everything, gone. Even her own tent had disappeared into the darkness; she was alone, utterly alone. They had left her, forgotten her, abandoned her.

Oh no, oh please, please no! No! This can't happen to me. Taylor let out a cry; the tears fell wildly from her eyes. Her stomach churned and she felt the bile rise in her throat. She ran towards the black waters of the ocean, screaming and crying, flailing her arms madly.

"No! Come back! Please, come back! Don't leave me!"

"Taylor!"

Taylor woke with a sharp gasp, a thin film of sweat was present on her forehead and she was shaking. The images flashed through her mind, playing over and over in their vibrant, terrifying visions. It was the third nightmare this week.

"Taylor?" The voice called again, but Taylor didn't need to look up to see who it was. She knew the voice almost better than her own, the voice that comforted her through the last set of nightmares.

She felt his body slip quietly into her sleeping bag, and his arms wound around her waist, pulling her tightly into his warm body. Taylor felt her heart jump; she mentally cursed herself for having feelings for him. After all, he loved Melissa, didn't he? But Taylor couldn't help but feel safer in his arms, she was careless, her nightmares were forgotten.

"Nightmares again?" He whispered into her wild, blond curls.

Taylor just nodded, afraid that if she spoke the moment would shatter. Instead she slowly curled her body into his, resting her cheek in the crook of his neck.

"You okay?" She shivered from the heat of his breath, her body ached for him.

She nodded again, and he began to brush his fingertips along her hairline.

"Jackson?" She whispered into his hot skin.

He murmured softly in response, neither dared to speak louder than a whisper. Neither wanted to ruin the purity of their moment; to wake the others and cause a fuss.

"Promise me, that you won't leave me here, that you won't forget about me."

Jackson's expression grew serious; he hooked his finger beneath Taylor's chin and gently raised it so he could see her eyes.

"I will never forget you Taylor; I need you to know that."

A small smile graced her lips, and the butterflies rose from the pit of her stomach. And for a moment she didn't care that he loved Melissa, because Taylor loved to pretend, and with his arms around her waist and her head on his chest; counting his every heartbeat, she felt loved.
