Sighing inwardly, Alanna of Trebond, soon to be of Pirate's Swoop, tucked a strand of her shoulder length hair behind her ear. Signaling for her mount to slow down she thought, 'I cant believe I'm really marrying, even though when I was young I promised I wouldn't. And to George of all people!'
Riding at a slow pace for a bit, Alanna was able to take in the surroundings a bit more. She was in the forest near Pirate's Swoop, old hundred foot tree's towered all around her, letting only bits of light through to warm her. 'I can't believe its George I'm marrying, I really thought that I'd be marrying Jon! Jon always was more romantic, more interesting. Hold on, Alanna! Don't think this way! George is good to you'
When she came across a opening with a waterfall, Alanna decided to take a break. She dismounted and put her horse on the long line, she he could still graze. She settled down on a patch of soft grass and stared moodily at the water. 'I can't believe I even thought that of George'
"Do you?" asked a soft voice. Alanna whirled around and drew out her sword as she did so. It was the Great Mother Goddess. Alanna replaced her sword to it's sheath.
"Mother" she said, bowing. The Goddess nodded in return. "I thought you said you'd never return"
"Indeed" her magical voice sound like the sunrise on a grey morning "But something has arisen. Something Mithros nor I, have expected. You have not chosen your path. Your true path. Your love is not true"
Alanna was confused "What do you mean?"
The Goddess started to fade "Your true path. You have not chosen your true path" she repeated
"Wait!" Alanna called "I don't understand"
"You will come to understand, Daughter, you will come to understand. I shall visit you tonight" and then she was totally gone.
Bewildered, Alanna mounted her horse and set of to Pirate's Swoop.
