Disclaimer: I don't own Leverage, but it would be awfully cool if I did!
AN: Okay, so this is my first fic in this fandom. Fair warning that this is OOC and slightly AU. I hope you guys like it!
After what happened, after almost losing him and learning that she was falling in love, she decided to do something about it. She was going to talk to him, but every time she thought it was the right time, he seemed to be pulled away by one of the others. She thought they were trying to make him avoid her.
She looked over at him, hunched over another computer; the look on his face was one of pure and total concentration. She knew if she timed it just right she could startle him and she loved doing that. She walked softly, not making a sound. She almost reached him when she heard a voice.
"Parker, don't," Nate said coming down the pub stairs. Parker fixed her face in a pout as Hardison turned and looked at her with a grin on his face.
"Ruin my fun," Parker grumbled. Nate smirked.
"Hey, trying to sneak up on me huh?" Hardison asked, "How many times I told you not to do that?"
"Several or a hundred," she answered with a Parker-ish grin, "Never stops me though."
"Uh-huh," Hardison replied.
"Can I talk to you alone?" Parker all of a sudden blurted out. Hardison looked at her with a questioning look.
"Uh, sure, I guess," he said. He got up and followed her to the back room of the pub. "What's up?"
"What are we?" she asked.
"Uh, huh?" Hardison said.
"What are we? Friends, more than friends? What?" she asked.
"Umm, uh, I uh, um…" Hardison trailed off, "Where is this coming from Parker?"
"Since that day in the graveyard, I've had these weird feelings in my stomach every time I see you. I don't know what's going on. I want to know where we stand and all that," Parker said.
"Um, I…I know that I care for you a lot Parker," Hardison said.
"I care for you too, but what does that mean? I don't understand how all this is supposed to work," Parker said.
"Parker, I like you. Like-like you," Hardison.
He watched her face as she processed those words.
"Well, in that case, I like-like you too," Parker said smiling, "Now, where do we go from here?"
"I'm not sure, but I'll go as slow or as fast as you want to take this," Hardison said.
"Not slow, but not too fast," Parker said.
"Works for me," Hardison said, "Let's get to the briefing. The others are waiting."
Parker nodded and Hardison wrapped an arm around her waist which made her freeze a moment to adjust to that feel and she smiled as she felt warmed, like he was the one she had been searching for. They walked to the briefing that way and were welcome with "About time" "Congrats" and a "Hurt her and die" look from everyone. The two smiled and got on with running down their next con, glad that they talked.
AN: So, how did I do? Leave a review, please and thank you!
