Bodily throw to the floor, Sam had no chance of getting to the door in time. His eyes watched the iron-clad door slammed shut. There he was on the dirt-ridden floor with only a glimpse of light shining through a small cellar window. He moved slightly trying to make out shapes of what was in this small room. The light on the east wall showed symbols he had yet learn.

"Well, look what the cat dragged in" joked a familiar voice. Sam darted around but he could see anything. "Who's there?" He asked as he felt his pockets for a weapon. No weapon. He was unarmed with something in the room with him.

No one answered and nothing moved. Sam shifted on the spot. The dim light from the windows didn't help him gauge what was in the room or how big it was. "Little Sammy, all worked up over a dark room" chuckled the same voice. Sam decided to ignore it. He moved back to the door to the room and started trying to open it. "There's no point," said the voice with a click of the tongue, "Do you think I wouldn't have tried that already?" it asked. Same turned his head to see the outline of a figure near the wall with the symbols. The figure moved slowly towards the lighter part of the room.

Sam's eyes widened and his jaw dropped. There stood Gabriel. His clothes slightly bloodied but he still had a confidence about him. "What are you doing here?" Sam asked, and without waiting for an answer he ordered Gabriel, "Get us out of here". Gabriel's eyes narrowed. "Like I said, do you think I wouldn't have tried that already?" he replied with a raised eyebrow. He turned his head to the wall, "The symbols you see are embedded in the walls," Gabriel said with a anger that Sam yet never heard before, "Their worse that what you and your brother have done, they stop me from doing anything that shows off my angelic powers". Gabriel's expression changed as he looked back at Sam, "If it didn't I would have come to help Dean when he called" he answered his eyes softening.

"Dean called?" Sam asked completely confused over why Dean would have to call for help. Gabriel walked over to Sam and looked up at him. His eyes narrowed as he stared up into Sam's eyes. "You really don't know how broken you are, do you?" Gabriel asked his voice sounding rather emotional. Stepping away Gabriel bowed his head. "I guess it's a good thing these symbols are on the wall also keep hidden pests away" Gabriel muttered.

"Why did Dean call for help?" Sam reiterated.

"Why do you think Dean asked for help?" Gabriel turned raising a brow. He looked over Sam. He was different. He was weaker. Every second he was wasting away without Gadriel putting angelic powers into healing his body. Gabriel sighed, it was a good thing his host was still willing to put him in charge. Sam walked away from the door and stared into the nothingness of the room. "So Dean asked you to help, what save the world from other angels?" Sam asked turning around to Gabriel.

"Honestly, you believe me to be dead and the minute you see me again it's all questions," Gabriel crossed his arms, "That's all you boys do, ask stuff or order me to do things for you. Not even a 'Hello Gabriel, I'm so glad you're still alive. I hope your brothers and sisters having been treating you too badly down here'". Sam looked down at the frustrated angel unsure about what to do. Gabriel huffed and glared up at Sam. "You might as well get comfy. We're not leaving here until someone on the other side of that door decides to save us"
