Perfection

Summary: How could a girl who despised perfection down to its spelling love a boy who is made of it? Machi/Yuki one shot
Warning: Manga spoilers… Machi and/or Yuki might be out of character just a bit… and… dunno what else.
"Be perfect. Be perfect all the time. Have perfect personality; a perfect transcript. If you aren't perfect you won't win against that woman's son. You're father won't approve."
Machi punched the wall in front if her again. All of the flowers on the delicate wallpaper were arranged in a beautiful pattern… one after another… perfect… they were perfect. She hated them.
"MACHI!" she heard his voice and she felt soft hands grab her wrists and gently pry her fists from the faultlessness in front of her. She knew that voice… that boy… the one they called Prince.
Everything about him was perfect… everything. No room for her… one who defied perfection at every turn. So she tried avoiding him… yet it never seemed possible…
"…Hey, if the snow piles up like this again, let's go make footprints in the snow together, ok?"
Those words… that promise… and as luck would have it… snow was falling as he stopped her. "Machi… please… stop. This isn't yours to destroy…"
What did he know? He knew nothing… he was perfection… yet she could not stop the weird feeling for him she had…
"It's… it's snowing Yuki…" She said, suddenly finding herself crying. The grip on her wrists loosened a little, then let go completely.
"Well then Machi… shall we go walk in it?"
He remembered.
He remembered.
He remembered.
That was all. Prince Yuki Sohma had remembered his promise… and intended to keep it.
They walked out of the building and into the snow. As promised, Yuki and Machi made oddly shaped Figure Eights and faces. They also took turns destroying theirs and each other's creations by walking all over it.
Machi smiled and giggled as Yuki used his steps to create a rather odd likeness of her half-brother, Kakeru. She walked in another clean spot of now and created a likeness of Matoko Minagawa, former president of the Prince Yuki Fan Club.
Yuki gave a small laugh and helped her walk over it.
20 minutes later both pairs of feet were close to freezing from kicking up and walking in snow. Their walking around had brought them right next to each other. Machi shivered in the cold, since she had not grabbed a jacket, she was in her sweater.
Machi rubbed her hands on her arms, trying to keep them warm. Yuki reached out and took her wrists gently, moving to hold both of her hands in his gloved ones. She blushed a bit and they looked at each other. She wasn't sure about it though... he was just so... so perfect.
"Machi I…" Yuki said. Machi smiled and let go of one of his hands to put a finger to his lips as she leaned closer to him.
"I know…" she said and they shared a kiss.
From around the corner Kakeru was watching with a smile, along with Komaki, his own girlfriend. "I'm happy they're together." He said to her. She smiled back in agreement.
Machi no longer doubted her relations with Yuki. He might be perfection... but he was her perfection.
