Mark stood on the stage staring into the dark, empty theater, he wasn't ready to leave. He cradled his camera in his hands he couldn't move, there was too many memories before him. A hand came down harshly on his shoulder, he turned around to face a bitter rocker.

"It's over, man" Roger grumbled. "They forgot about us, it's time to move on."

Mark said nothing but turned back to the empty seats thinking of all the amazing people that used to fill those chairs. His mind wandered to the other forums the RENTheads would escape to so they could be together and continue their story.

"Mark everyone's gone," He reminded. "They knew they weren't coming back, not this time. We have to go."

"It's not right. This wasn't what Jonathan would have wanted." Mark whispered.

Roger sighed and set his guitar case down, "I know but everyone's gone Mimi, Maureen, even Collins. They knew, no one was coming back, not this time. There's no movie this time to save us."

"I'm not leaving," Mark snapped. "I-I want to be there for them, they'll come back I know they will and I want to be there for them. We changed lives, remember?"

Roger rolled his eyes and grabbed his guitar, he couldn't listen to this again.

"Remember how they'd cry when they saw us live for the first time, or when the movie came out? What about late at night when those kids were too sad or stressed to sleep and they'd come up with some of the most tragic stories for us to help them cope? You're going to leave now? the 20th anniversary is coming a-and these seats will fill up again! I know it."

"Mark" Roger sighed trying to get him to stop, but it was too late tears were streaming down film maker's face. "Look I've been waiting and looking around I don't think they're that excited about it. They've grown up, Mark we have to go."

"No! I'm staying" Mark shouted clutching his camera tighter. "They'll be back and I'll be here to help them and let them know they're not alone and that they can be apart of our family."

"Okay,"

Roger knew he wasn't going to be able to get him to leave. He's tried before, but Mark's right they need to be there in case they come back. But if they don't he cant just leave him waiting in the theater alone. He took his guitar to the metal table that sat center stage and began to tune it. Mark straightened up the props and stood waiting. They both knew deep down the fandom was dead but they'll wait a little longer just in case. After all RENT is about hope, isn't it?

I miss you guys. Just , I remember like 4 years ago how alive and excited this fandom was. Now we barely have a pulse. I know I'm part of the problem because I disappeared for a while but i never stopped writing and loving this show. I wish everyone would come back. I hope you guys understand how i feel and arent mad.
