They really did live happily ever after.
This is a story I originally had to write for school last year and I became quite fond of it, so I decided to post it. It's what would have happened if the plan had worked out and Romeo and Juliet really did run off together.

Romeo and the Friar entered the Capulet tomb to await Juliet's awakening. The stench was so bad Romeo thought he might faint, but he stayed strong, knowing that in a few short hours he could start a wonderful new life with his wife, Juliet. Romeo looked around and saw the body of Tybalt, grief washing over him knowing Tybalt was here because of Romeo's hands. Suddenly, Romeo heard a rustling sound and saw Juliet's sleeping form begin to move.
"Where am I?" Juliet asked groggily.
"Juliet, Juliet, I am here, everything will be alright." Romeo said softly as he and Friar Lawrence helped her stand up on shaky legs.
"Come! Daybreak is approaching, you must leave, go! May peace be with you both." Friar Lawrence said as he hurried them out of the tomb and onto the road leading to Mantua.
Three years later"Daddy! Daddy! Daddy's home Mummy!" Will yelled as he ran to his father, Romeo, who had just walked in the door from work. It had been three years since Romeo and Juliet had fled from Verona to Mantua, and they had started a new life. Romeo had taken up as an apprentice at a blacksmith's shop and now owned his own, as he had become quite proficient in the profession.
"Yes, I can see that." Juliet said as she got up from the place where she had been nursing their daughter on the couch.
"How are my two favorite girls today?" Romeo asked ask he kissed his wife lightly and then moved to kiss his now sleeping daughter's head and pick up Will who was jumping up and down begging to be picked up.
"Well I'm fine, but our Rose had been a bit fussy today, she did say "mama" though!" Juliet responded, leaning into her husband's embrace.
"What an accomplishment!" Romeo said, "I just hope she will be as poetic in her speaking as her mother as she ages."
"One could only hope." Juliet jested as she started heading back to put Rose down for her nap, Romeo followed with a now sleeping Will over his shoulder when he heard a knocking at the door. Romeo put Will down and went to open to door. He was a little more than surprised to see Friar Lawrence standing at their door, briefly noting how much age three years had shown on the poor man's face.
"Friar! It's so good to see you again!" Romeo greeted the Friar with a warm smile, but it slowly faded as he saw the look on the Friar's face.
"Romeo, there is trouble in Verona." The Friar said as a look of anger flashed in his eyes.

A/N: Ok, so what do you think? Should I continue it, or just leave it as a one shot? I'm open to any suggestions/criticism! So please review! Thanks!
