As a child, Joanne grew up as catholic in her childhood, going to mass with her parents and attending Miss Porters. At a young age, she knew she was gay ever since she laid eyes on her brunette 5th grade teacher. Eventually she told her parents about her sexuality. Even though her faith didn't support homosexuality, she still went to church, only to rid her sins or pray for a loved one. She stopped going to church when she left Miss Porter's, but decided to go back, at least for little while when the AIDS disease was eating Mimi alive.

Maureen noticed that Joanne left much earlier on Sundays to go to work. In reality, she was just going to spend some time at the catholic church down on 59th street. Joanne parked her car and walked into the silent building. She lit a candle near the back, sat in the back pews and kneeled,

"God, please keep Mimi alive. We all love her, don't take her away."

As she said some other prayers, She saw Mark walk down the tiled floor. They both locked eyes and he decided to move into her pew,

"Hey Joanne. Um, are you here for Mimi?" He asked,

She nodded her head, "Not to be rude but aren't you Jewish?"

"Of course, but something else happened. Something that Maureen got notice of already. I just needed to find the nearest church."

Joanne sat back into the pew, "What happened?"

"Joanne, Collins passed away this morning."

Although the anarchist only knew the lawyer for only year, She felt as if they always knew each other because of Maureen.

Before she could break down, Mark hugged her.

They spent twenty minutes praying for their friends before they both had to attend their day jobs,

"I'll see you later Joanne."

"You too Mark." She smiled, wiping a tear from her eyes. Mark hugged her once again and quietly exited the church.

Joanne looked up, "Miss you Collins."

She grabbed her purse and left the church in silence.
