Cho traced the patterns of his dragon tattoo, humming as she did so. Marcus gave a contented sigh and mumbled something underneath his breath. Cho almost missed it.
Almost being the key word.
Immediately, she stilled.
"What did you say?" she asked, her voice calm and even. Marcus blinked, wondering why she had stop for a brief moment until he remembered what he had said. What he meant with every fiber of his being, but had never said out loud before, in fear that she wouldn't respond. Why would she? Cho was brilliant and beautiful and wonderful, and Marcus's great-grandmother had been a troll. He had resolved not to say anything until Cho said it first. Whatever this was, he didn't want to ruin it by getting to serious too fast.
But trust Marcus Flint to ruin anything and everything.
He opened his mouth to say something, what he didn't know, but Cho interrupted him. She swooped down and closed her mouth around his. Instantly, Marcus found himself with one hand in her hair and the other on her hips, his heart beginning to soar. This was a good thing right? It had to be. Why would she do this if she didn't-
"I love you too," she whispered against his lips, and Marcus resolved never to miss a chance telling her again.
