He started taking the bullets out of his gun when he got home, just like he used to when Bella was little and far too curious for her own good. Her curiosity coupled with her clumsiness was bad enough on there own, but add a gun to the mix? He shuddered at the thought.
He's fairly certain she doesn't notice but he does it anyway…maybe he does it because she doesn't notice, he isn't certain. He's worried about her, a living ghost in her own home. Ever since that boy left she's cried herself to sleep at night and screamed herself awake, and it scares him. He's scared because she's his daughter and she's dead on the inside.
The truth of the matter is that she's old enough not to shoot herself by accident, but maybe depressed enough to do it on purpose.
So Charlie takes the bullets out of his gun and hopes against hope that she gets better soon.
