Regret washed over her. She couldn't hate herself anymore that this. She was so stupid.

She had the best thing that could ever happen to her life. She had the man who love her with all his being. And she made such a stupid mistake that she's terrified she will lose him for good.

And all for her pride. She couldn't control her anger very well. She's impatient by nature. She has a tendency to say hurtful things when she's hurt herself.

Shikamaru, on the other hand, is incredibly patient. He has reached the locust of control that enabled him to stay calm and collected under most circumstances.

They are the complete antithesis of each other.

Most of the time, Temari didn't understand why he love her. How he puts up with her irrationality, her own slanted brand of logic, her frequent mood swings and temper flares, her insecurities, her complaints. On occasion, she would wonder how could a man such like him actually love her with no qualifications.

They had been together for almost 4 years. She was the first one who admitted her love for him, not really expecting him to reciprocate her feelings.

But he love her, sacrificed for her. She knew he strive to improve himself for her. He was one of the best shinobi in Konoha, he worked hard and trained long, as such he became an invaluable asset to his village. He took his responsibilities seriously. And he can be relied on anything.

And he did that for her.

And what did she do? Sure she made sacrifices herself. On occasion she would choose Shikamaru over her brothers. Spending more time with him than her own family. But she was too focused on herself, her own problems that most of the time, she forgets to show him how much he meant to her, how much important he is to her life. How much she appreciated him as a person, as a lover, as a friend, as a shinobi.

She found out later that he held this hurt inside him for so long. He told her that he never felt appreciated and valued in their relationship. That the only things she always see are his negative side, his shortcomings, his mistakes. That she conveniently overlooks the good, the romantic and the improvement that he tried so hard to accomplish.

He was right.

And Temari despised herself for that. She regretted everything that she had done that put that hurt inside his heart.

And she hurt for him.

She could only apologize. And regret. And she could only hope that he love her enough to give her another chance. She could only hope that he trusted her enough to let her make up to him, to make up for every pain the she made him feel.

She would do anything to have that chance again. She pray day and night to have that chance again.

And she will make a vow. Given that chance, she would do everything in her power, in her capabilities, to give him what he so richly deserve. To show him how truly an important and precious person he is to her life.
