Nezumi awoke with a start and glanced around. At first, he had no clue where he was, then he looked down at his hand, it was holding another's.

He blushed softly as he looked and saw the brunette-haired boy it was attached to.

Shion.

The name hit him like the rain the night before. Fast, hard, and, surprisingly, refreshing. Nezumi looked down at himself, remembering the wound from last night and lift the sweater's sleeve. It looked better than it did last night.

Blankets rustled and the boy was suddenly at attention. Nevermind, he just changed positions.

Nezumi let out the breath he was holding and studied the boy again. His face looked so soft and peaceful, his mouth just slightly ajar. His hair was askew and matted down.

The other boy realized something, sooner or later, they would come to find him. They would hurt his savior if they found him, the rat, here. Shion would've helped him to survive by sacrificing himself.

Nezumi would have none of that. He let go of Shion's hand and got off the bed. He stole one last glance at the brunette before creeping down the stairs and out to the window.

"Nezumi?"

He froze and turned around, Shion was right behind him.

"Go back to sleep, I'm lea-"

"Will I ever see you again?"

Silence.

"Maybe…"

"I-I hope so…"

Nezumi couldn't help but smile, even just a little. Without warning, he tilted Shion's chin down and leaned in to kiss him on the lips, "Good bye…"

And he was gone.
