A man in a brown suit with his bed-hair sticking up in all directions stepped out of a strange blue box. The girl across the ally makes no sound, not fazed by the sudden appearance of the police box. He turns to her, his familiar smile that always danced across his lips fading to a frown.
"Rose?" He asks the girl, concerned by her garb. She's adorned in all black and pink, a tattoo visible under her too-short shirt that hangs above her belly button.
The girl he named as Rose looks up, her eyes blank for a moment as she looks over the man in front of her. She sent a glare at him, and if glares could kill...
"That's Da Rose to you. Sir." She snarled, making a strange movement as she pronounces her name, almost daring him to comment.
"What?" He asks as she pushes away from the ally wall and walks down the street, thumbs in her pocket.
"Rose Wait!" He calls, completely confused.
What happened! He thinks to himself as he chases her. She makes no change to her pace as he steps up beside her spluttering.
"Rose!" He exclaims.
"I already told you, its DA Rose, bitch." She snaps. At her swear The Doctor stopped completely, but instead of backing away he began to mutter himself.
"SAI?" He asks himself quietly.
"What?" Rose asks him in spite of herself.
"Sudden alien invasion." He clarifies softly as if he doesn't even know he's doing it. The Doctor ran his hand through his hair thinking. He took out his sonic screwdriver and began to scan Da Rose.
"Stop that." She snarls and turns around, raising her hand as if to slap him. The Doctor cringed back, remembering her mother. But Rose had turned around again and started walking. The Doctor finished the scan before Rose could notice and look at the results.
"That's fine, that's fine. Totally human. What happened to you Rose?" He asked taking a step forward. She stopped, her shoulders shaking with fury.
"Four Years of waiting. Four Years!" She screamed, turning around.
"Ten minutes." The Doctor whispered, shaking his head, awestruck by the horror of his mistake. He met Rose's eyes, terrified. Her eyes far to bright and wet, but she wouldn't let herself cry. Rose turned away from him, as she should. He let her down, and not for the first time, and maybe the last, though he hoped not.
"I'm sorry." He murmured and walked up to her. "Rose." He reached for her arm but she turned with a snarl on her face.
"Stay away from me." She growled and turned away, but not before he could see a single tear falling down her cheek.
"Rose." He whispered.
"Da Rose." She corrected softly and looked over her shoulder regretfully to look into his eyes once more before turning and walking away.
"Please." He muttered, allowing no emphases on the word, almost making it a whisper, yet his voice sounded so raw. She turned back, the fury in her gaze taking him off guard.
"Do you know how many times I screamed that to the stars! How many times I thought you left me because you didn't want me! I thought you left me, dropped me off because you were done, but..." She trailed of looking to the side.
"You didn't forget me." He finished, clearly annoyed that she would even think such a thing. She glared at him but he didn't recoil, holding her gaze till she dropped his.
"No." She muttered and he crumbled.
"I... You could still come with me if you want. I wont skip ahead anymore." He suggested. She looked up, clearly wanting to come, but hating herself for it at the same time.
"I..." She trailed off, her eyes full of hope, but also pain from the betrayal.
"Come with me." He motioned to the Tardis with his head and started walking, grinning over his shoulder. She took a step forward then looked over her shoulder to the alley stretching out behind her. She laughed quietly and turned back to find the Doctor in the doorway of his wonderful machine and Rose ran to him, a smile shinning on her face.
