Hiya! This was just a random scenario I thought of in the middle of the night. I thought I'd upload it anyway, and see whether anyone would be interested in another chapter or so!

It was past midnight. Ruby, Weiss and Yang were fast asleep within their dorm. The soothing sound of heavy rain could be heard all across Beacon Academy. Blake had only just placed her book down to get some sleep. However, something was bothering her. The raven haired girl turned over and tugged her blanket closer in attempt to get more comfortable. Blake laid there motionless for a few seconds. Nope, that definitely wasn't it. She sighed in frustration, rolling to lie on her back. She placed her hands behind her head, looking up at the blank ceiling. The faunus focused on the soft patter of the rain against the window.

Blake didn't hate the rain. She just wasn't exactly fond of being in the rain. Who enjoys deliberately getting themselves drenched? Or jumping in puddles? Oh yes, the joy of waking up the morning after snotty with a cold. Blake never quite understood those types of people. Despite that, the sound of rain was sweet music to Blake's ears. It rarely rained in Vale, and when it does, it's usually a light shower which lasts an hour or two the most. It had been raining for four hours straight. Knowing it wouldn't rain like this for quite some time, Blake snuggled her head deeper into her pillow and closed her eyes, enjoying the moment while it lasted.

Silence.

Blake suddenly sat up straight. Her eyes were wide, her heart raced. Her faunus ears which resembled cat ears were upright. Blake had a stern look on her face as she focused on the rain. Not the rain itself, but the sound drowned out by it. What was that? She thought. A moment passed, and she heard it again. The sound was heartbreaking to the girl. It didn't sound too far away. In an instance, Blake was up on her feet and out the room. She walked hastily towards the exit of the building, only coming to an abrupt stop when she had opened the door to see how wet and gloomy it was outside. Blake frowned.

"Why am I doing this?" She muttered to herself. As the faunus was about to turn around and head back to her dorm, she froze. That sound. It was as if someone were crying out for help. She would hear the misery as they pleaded for someone to help them.

Blake looked out into the darkness. She was barefoot and in her pajamas. The girl grimaced, before she sprinted out into the night. Not even ten minutes pass, and Blake is completely drenched from head to toe. It didn't bother her as much as it should have. Her mind was set on helping whoever it was that was out in the rain. The girl was searching all over the Beacon gardens for the source of the cries. Blake's hearing was excellent compared to the average person, yet the rain was overwhelming her. She was getting closer to them. The faunus could clearly tell that it was a woman's cry. The sound eventually leaded Blake to a bench in a secluded corner of the garden. This confused her. Blake was certain that this was the place. She had expected to at least seen a figure of a woman sitting down on the bench, but no.

It was then that Blake heard a sneeze. Strangely, it came from below her. Blake slowly looked down to her bare feet, which were covered in a thick layer of mud. She caught small movements under the bench. Carefully, Blake bent her knees and peered under it. Her eyes widened, and she let out a soft "oh" as she gasped in both surprise and shock.

There, under the bench, fur covered in mud and wet with rain… was a mother cat sheltering her babies.
