Ok, I'm really insecure about this fic.
Set: After the 11th episode: "Skinny Dipper".
Adam smiled to himself - he couldn't stop. For the first time in more than 300 years, he was excited about something - the last time he had felt something like this was when he had once thought that he had found someone else like him; although it turned out that he was wrong.
But now he was sure that he was right: Henry was like him.
Tonight was the first time that Henry saw his face - a face he will never forget again, Adam will make sure of that.
He knows that Henry doesn't understand him - doesn't understand what he did, or what they have to do. Henry needs to kill. That's what he was chosen for.
Adam wasted years trying figure out why he couldn't die, and had finally realized the answer was in front of his eyes the entire time: he was chosen to kill. The reason that he can't die is so that he may learn about death; and be better able to deal it out.
Now he understood. He need kill everyone that was wrong or wasn't important enough to live - he was needed to help clear the space on Earth.
Adam used to think that human life was important - but that was a long time ago. Now, he knows that if it was important, then they wouldn't die. Humans aren't important, they are just easily be - different people; same history. Over and over again - that's all that he saw.
Humans are just pampered - every single one. They are all screwed up, with darkness in their hearts - that's a lesson he had learned the hard way.
Henry was still a child, like Adam once was himself. He didn't yet know that if he let someone come into his life, he was going to be hurt - Adam was just trying to show this for him. He just wanted protect him, before it was too late.
Because Henry is special. Henry is like him - he is strong.
Henry will be there when nobody else will.
Henry is the one who Adam maybe can count.
Henry was the exception.
And Adam was going to making sure that Henry understood who they really are. Who they can be. And see that they need to be friends. Adam needs him. They need one each other.
Thanks to Hannah Lynn McDonald for helping me with my terrible English mistakes.
