So, yeah. This was written for a prompt on the op_fanforall (part 4 page 14). The anon wanted 'to see some Garp and Dragon interaction, specifically when Dragon becomes a revloutionary and Garp's subsequent reaction.'

OOOO

"Wait just a goddamn minute, Dragon. What the hell do you mean you're gonna become a revolutionary?" Garp's indignant cry boomed through the night.

"The world today is corrupt and foul, something only further encouraged by the favoritism played by the government. Those with wealth are given protection and special treatment while those in need are pushed aside and hidden from view" was the collected reply. "I intend to put an end to it."

It was a late night on the island, and most of the inhabitants were sleeping. Garp had caught up to the other at the edge of town, away from any prying ears.

"You realize that you'll have the entire government forces after you, don't you? They won't let you off easy just because you're my son." The desperation to prevent his son's dangerous decision was beginning to show.

"Of course I know that, which is why it would be best that no one know of our connection. As far as the world knows, I'm a man with no past or family to speak of."

"No fam-! What about Luffy? Are you just going to abandon your son?"

Dragon bowed his head slightly so that the pain in his eyes was safely hidden in the shadow of his hood. "I must. I won't allow the government to hunt down an innocent child simply because of his father's actions; actions that he himself had no control over."

Garp deflated a little at that. After all, there was nothing he could say to counter it; not after he had hidden Roger's son from the world partly for the same reason. It was a cruel world that would force a son to never know his father because of the danger it would pose to them.

"There's nothing I can say to change your mind, is there." It was more of a statement than a question.

Dragon stared at his father thoughtfully for a moment. "I'm afraid not. I need to do what must be done." A pause and then "take care of Luffy for me?"

"Of course I will, moron. I'll definitely raise him to become a fine man. Like hell I'll let him become someone who's hunted by the government" Garp choked out as he stubbornly ignored the tears springing up at the corners of his eyes.

Dragon chuckled a bit "I don't know about that. He already seems like the wild adventurous sort, more likely to become a pirate than a marine."

"Like hell he will!"

A long, painful moment of silence. "Bye dad. Thank you"

"Goodbye. Don't get caught."

OOOO

Well? Constructive criticism is welcomed and encouraged. Did the characterizations turn out okay? How about the pacing of the story? General comments?
