DCI Neil Manson walked from his car to the entrance of Sunhill Police Station and up the stairs to CID, which had been revamped and expanded in late 2010 to fit the 36 desks for the officers of Sunhill CID and the old Barton Street CID. He entered his office to find a stack of paper work, he assumed that the papers were mere reports, upon opening the binders that held the papers he discovered that DC Mickey Webb had compiled a 1200 page report on serial attacks in the borough of Canley, going back 16 years. DCI Manson continued to read the report for over an hour when he realised that DC Mickey Webb had discovered a gold mine of slowly escalating attacks numbering in the 120 range. Manson skipped to the last section of the report to find the names of several murder victims. All of the names were from unsolved cases and 5 of them were from the borough Canley. DCI Manson's first order of business was to inform the Superintendent of Operations and the Chief Superintendent/ Borough Commander via telephone. After giving the two senior officers a preliminary outline of the case at hand he called a briefing of his staff and instructed his subordinates to set up the incident room:

"Grace and Terry get started in the incident room, start pulling files whatever you have to do to get a start."

He continued to assign work to his officers:

" Detective Sergeant Carter will coordinate the homicide cases with the Serious Crime and Homicide Command."

DS Moss asked the DCI about bringing in more staff:

"Gov, should we ask for more man power from SCD1 if Max is liaising with them?"

" Stevie seeing as though this is looking like a serieal case we should make a call to Serious and Serial, ask for DCI Luther, tell him Neil Manson told you to call"

Later on DCI Luther arrived:

"Well Neil we sure do have our work cut out for us."
