Hello and welcome to the Rewrite of the story Heartbroken. I started writing this story when I was in high school. Needless to say that my writing skills at the time were mediocre at best and the end product was full of typing errors, inconsistencies, and lots of plot holes. I had to put this story on a seven-year hiatus after losing interesting in writing due to difficult times.

So I decided to completely rewrite this story as it was the first story I wrote for the general public. I hope this rewrite will only take a month to complete. But I learned in these last few years that nothing in life is certain.

A little favor I am ask though is that you please hold your flames until I have completed the rewrite. That means if you start reading this story and notice one chapter is written well while the next chapter is horrible, that means I haven't gotten to it yet. So please do not review to tell me it sucks.

Thank you.

Chapter 1: The Wedding

"I'm so happy for you, Kagome!" said Sango as she hugged her best friend. "I can't believe that you and Inuyasha are getting married." Even Kagome was still surprise by this. After all, Kagome and Inuyasha had had a very rocky relationship to say the least. Throughout their four year relationship, Inuyasha was still in love with his first girlfriend, Kikyo. And whenever they would have an argument or if there was a chance that he could win her back, Inuyasha would breakup with Kagome temporary to be with Kikyo. And even though she adorned Inuyasha she could not take it anymore. Kagome told him that she was fed up with him, and that he had to make a decision. It was either her or Kikyo. At first, Kagome was sure he would pick Kikyo like he did in the past. Inuyasha and Kikyo were childhood friends and high school sweethearts. While kagome had only dated Inuyasha throughout college. But in the end, Inuyasha chose Kagome. And here they were now. About to become man and wife.

"I guess once Inuyasha though about, it was pretty foolish of him to try to win back Kikyo." Sango said, snapping Kagome out of her thoughts.

"Yeah. I'm just glad he finally came to his senses." Kagome smiled.

"Yeah, you truly are lucky." She sighed heavily as she zipped up Kagome's dress. "I wish someone loved me as much as Inuyasha loves you."

"What about Miroku?" Kagome asked. "He's been after you since the seventh grade. Remember how he would grab you from behind at lunch all the time." Kagome said as Sango blushed a deep red. "And you would bash his face into the ground."

"How can you consider groping as a form of affection!" she cried out.

"I'm only saying that maybe if you gave Miroku a chance, you may grow to care about each other."

"Please! That womanizer doesn't care about anyone." Sango shouted back, Kagome knew that deep down Sango really did care about him. Sango looked at her watch. "Well, I better get down to the wedding. See you in a little bit."

"I'll try to throw the bouquet your way." Kagome teased as Sango went out the door. Kagome turned to the mirror. Though she did not considered herself to be a vain person, even she had to admit that she looked beautiful in her white dress. The same white dress her mother had worn on her wedding day.

For good luck. Her mother had told her.

"My, don't you look pretty, Kagome." Kagome quickly turned to see Inuyasha's half-brother, Sesshōmaru.

"Oh, Hello Sesshōmaru." she said, trying to sound polite, even though Sesshōmaru presence gave Kagome a feeling of discomfort the few times they were forced to interact. "What are you doing here? Did Inuyasha invite you to the wedding?" she asked, even though she was certain Inuyasha would never do such a thing. They were not the closest of siblings.

"No he didn't." Sesshōmaru gave a sneer. "You know that Inuyasha and I were never a tight nit family. I just came to wish the happy newlyweds luck."

"Is that so? That is so unlike you." Kagome backed away slowly. But He walked up to Kagome and put his hand on Kagome's cheek. "I must say, Kagome, You truly are the most beautiful woman I have laid eyes on." He said as his lips drew closer to hers.

"Thank you." She said nervously. Afraid that he might kiss her, Kagome pulled away rapidly. Feeling regretted, Sesshōmaru glared coolly towards her.

"But are you sure that you that you should be wearing white?" Sesshōmaru said coldly. "Only virgins wear white. I'm sure my brother has had you more than once before." Kagome felt like slapping him that very moment, but she resisted. No need to let Sesshōmaru ruin such a happy day for her

"Well, I better start going," she said as she walked passed him. "It was nice seeing you. Sesshōmaru." Saying his name with disgust, before leaving. In his fury, Sesshoumaru struck the wall with his fist.

"Damn you Inuyasha!" Sesshoumaru cursed as he stood in place. He hated Inuyasha so much at this very moment. He could never allow that worthless bastard to be happy. With the hatred and jealously for Inuyasha still burning strong, He vowed that he will take away everything Inuyasha loved very soon.

As Kagome walked down the church aisle, she couldn't shake away the anger towards Sesshōmaru. He was such a cruel man. Upsetting her right before she was to marry his half-brother.

Should I tell Inuyasha about my meeting with Sesshōmaru? Kagome asked herself. It was tempting, but as she looked towards the man she loved, she knew she couldn't. Inuyasha looked so happy. She couldn't ruin this day just because of Sesshōmaru's meddling. As she finally stood side to side to Inuyasha, Kagome decided that that she did not want to ruin this blissful occasion by bringing up Sesshōmaru to Inuyasha, so she would never mention that encounter to her husband.

So as the ceremony continued as scheduled, Kagome couldn't help but glanced toward the crowd every once in a while. Just to make sure Sesshōmaru was not watching her. Inuyasha held Kagome's hand and read his vows to her.

"Kagome, I have loved you since the moment I first laid eyes on you. We may have had our bad times, but you stuck by me to the end. Now that you are my wife, I feel that my life is truly complete. You have filled that hole in my heart with your love and loyalty. I love you Kagome, with all of my heart." Inuyasha placed a golden ring on Kagome's finger. "May this ring be a representation of my devotion for you." Kagome began to shed tears of joy.

"I love you too Inuyasha." She said. "With all my heart."

"You may now kiss your bride." Said the priest as Inuyasha took Kagome into his arms and kissed her. Kagome was never ever happier, now that she was officially Mrs. Hanyō.
