The Summer Rain

Amber eyes followed the figure his thoughts forming around the girl who danced carefree before him.

Landing softly

With a hushed rhythm

The heat of the sun

Against the fresh coolness of water

Looking across the way

I see you

Your brown eyes joyful

Arms raised high

Dancing spinning swirling

Around in circles

Magic seems to shine around you

As if nature joins your dance

I wish I could as well

Though I am danger

I am the darker side of nature

Unlike you and the summer rain

Closer and closer the dance

Does spin and twirl

I cannot help myself

I stand as you draw near

Grasping your hand

The one who spins you is I

Slowly our dance draws to a close

Our arms entwined

You look up to me

Your eyes shinning

A smile across your lips

As we both lean closer

As the summer rain falls

When they slowly broke apart Remus looked down at Amber, his expression showing clearly that he was about to object or apologize to her, before he could say anything, "Don't say anything Remus, it will ruin the moment." She took away the figure she had pressed against his lips silencing him. Her arms once again wrapped around his neck. They stood there for a while longer before he finally spoke.

"You know what I am Amber how can you want this?" old hurt was held in his voice, underlying the hurt, there was wonder easily found, as if he could not believe it.

"Remus what ever else you are, you are a compassionate, smart, wonderful person and I love you."

The last three words were the ones he had been waiting for years to hear.
