Hey All! Here's a little something to tide you over until a certain sequel comes your way. This was written months ago, I think when the spin off rumors were confirmed and I just realized now that I haven't posted this here and only on my LJ.

This drabble was originally untitled so please forgive the lame..uhh... title.

Disclaimer: GA and its characters are not mine.

GOODBYE

He had been plagued all day about a nasty rumor he had heard on his way to his first morning surgery. All day long, he could not get his mind off at what he had heard. 'It can't possibly be true', he told himself over and over again. His mind wouldn't let it go so he found himself knocking at her hotel room at nearly midnight the same day.

She wasn't shocked to see him at her door and wordlessly stepped aside to let him in, then resumed what she was doing - packing her clothes.

"So, the rumors are true."

"It is not a rumor. So yeah, it's true."

He felt a sudden tightness in his chest.

"Were you even gonna tell me? Were you even gonna say goodbye?"

The silent look she gave told him her intentions. And the sudden tightness in his chest became a gripping paralysis.

"I didn't think you'd give a damn" she said nonchalantly, without any malice.

'Is this what they have become to each other?' he thought. 'Polite strangers? Mere acquaintances? Didn't they just share the last third of their lives with each other?'

The reality of what their relationship had become hit him so hard that he swore he blacked out for a moment. An overwhelming sadness washed over him and he felt tears prickle his eyes.

"Addie..." he started but another thought came across him, slamming into him like a mack truck speeding at 200 kmph - the likely possibility of never seeing her again and thus severing all ties they had to each other.

Without words and never caring what she might say or do, he gathered her into his arms and held on as tight as he could.

She was shocked at his actions and froze for a moment and then wrapped her arms around him. When she felt his tears soak the crook of her neck, she couldn't help but hold on tighter and let her own tears fall.
