Eli Goldsworthy let his black back-pack fall to the ground with "flop" noise against the hard wood floor of his bedroom.

He immediately grabbed his laptop with the skulls designs decorating it and laid down on his bed.

He felt the laptop hum to life above his ugly khakis.

Eli kind of loved being single, even if it was for the most dorky reason.

He enjoyed spending his Friday nights reading Gothic Tales fanfiction.

Eli eagerly logged on to the website, hoping that this week's stories would be heavy on the creativity and light on the bad grammar.

But before he could enter the forum, something caught his eye.

Degrassi.

Words could not describe Eli's confusion but his grin could not contain his curiosity. He double clicked Degrassi so the word turned from blue to purple before taking him to the page.

He bit his tongue hard when he saw his name.

"Eli G. and Clare E."

He scrolled through fics labeled AU, fics labeled drabble, fics labeled smut. Old Eli would have clicked smut. New Eli clicked on a drabble one, but he would revisit the smut one about he and Clare bing super-spies, because, come on!

Two things jumped out at Eli immediately.

The spelling. Big words were thrown in but simple ones were barely readable.

Clare-bear. Eli Goldsworthy was certain he had never called Clare "Clare-bear" in his entire life.

Still, it was better than… Really? Blue eyes? Okay, he knew her eyes were blue, but what was so wrong with a simple Clare? He could scream out "Clare!" while they were-

Wait, wasn't thing supposed to be a drabble?

Eli shook his head clicked the back arrow so he could continue to browse through the stories. Geez, there were a lot of stories. They all had him in them! Even the ones about something called a "Fadam." Wait? Fiona and Adam? Eli had completely forgotten that they had had a thing. But it was last year, and what kind of human being remembers events that happened a year ago?

Eli shrugged and found a story about an "Imogeli." Okay, was that his couple name with Imogen? Because that sounded like some kind of rare disease that made your intestines explode and would probably be featured on an episode of House. Eli shuddered but clicked on the story. Okay, wow. And he thought that the "Eclare" stories seemed a bit out there. He clicked the back arrow hastily. Eli finally saw a story that didn't have his name in it. "Cake."

"Oh!" He said aloud to his empty bedroom. Eclare and Cake. Like the pastries. Eli's face contorted, what a cheese-fest. Did people rally buy this?

Eli scrolled through the list of possible names for stories. He noticed that the only people that had stories were the only classmates he interacted with. Eli laughed, maybe he was the center of the universe. Eli laughed for a second until his eyes grew wide at the possibility.

Then another thought popped into his mind.

What was the DTC? It also sounded a bit like a disease.

Degrassi. Tumblr. Community.

Eli clicked on an author's link that took him to a page.

Shipping. Fangirling. GIFing.

Eli decided to never get off the computer.
