'A Noble-Hearted Anteater'

One noble-hearted anteater

Decided to help a charity.

He wanted to feed hungry children,

Or possibly sponsor some pilgrims.

However, he had no money

And didn't know how to earn it,

He thought of stealing some honey

From bees that were working constantly.

The problem with the bees was as follows:

They'd attack and sting him angrily.

So, as armour he would use a hollow

Pumpkin in which he would hide happily.

So he went to a beehive in armour,

Hoping to get the honey he needed,

With his tongue he approached their tree parlour,

Eating honey and not feeding the needy.

This made him so angry with himself

That he plodded to the nearest anthill,

He decided to catch some nice ants there

And donate them to the charity.

'Ants'

(authorship uncertain, probably an anteater):

Ants and termites are the food

that anteaters like the most.

It puts them in a good mood,

be it raw or fried or roast.

Some anteaters make it plain:

'Long live ants! As long as they

can land upon our tongues.

Ants are great and taste divine.'

They go therefore every day,

stick their tongues into ant-hills,

hoping they will always stay

right there happy and fulfilled.

Let's drinks to ants and termites,

celebrating Nature's gifts,

may anteaters take delight

in their daily ants in peace.

'Ode on Garlic'

Garlic is the healthiest spice,
Garlic tastes like paradise.
It is the utmost delight,
Makes you feel happy and bright.

Garlic tastes heavenly hot,
One breathes fire on the spot.
Garlic kills dangerous germs,
Even though it slightly burns.

Garlic is the perfect treat,
Nothing else would smell so sweet.
Garlic is the king of plants,
Announcing it with its scent.

If garlic could grow on trees
In enormous quantities,
We'd pick it by bucketfuls,
Nothing else would be so cool.

Let's plant garlic all around,
May it cover all the ground.
Let's indulge in eating it,
It'll make us healthy and fit.
