(I do not own Maximum Ride or Percy Jackson and the Olympians)

Prologue:

"Max. Me and the rest of the flock have decided it would be better for our safety if you leave." I heard Fang say. The Flock looked down; sad.

"What!" I screamed. I already had a tear forming in my eye. "After all I did, for all of you, you want me to leave! I lead you into battles and returned with you safely. I gave my comfort to you when you're down. I gave everything up to help you guys. Everything!" Now tears were cutting paths down my face.

"Max, if you really care about us, you would leave." I looked down. I just couldn't look the traitors in the eye. "Just think of it in our view. Itex is after you not us and you're always listening to that voice of yours; what if it leads us to our death."

I looked up and gave him my Glare of Death (and yes that is copyrighted). He flinched and looked down. "So you're going to ditch me and have me face Itex alone." I growled. "What kind of person are you. I thought you loved me."

He put a hand on my shoulder. I shrugged it off. "Max, we do love you but it best for everyone if you leave."

Okay now I'm pissed. I punched him in the nose. There was a very satisfying crack. He held his nose in agony. I turned and walked to the window. Once I got there I turned around and said, "If I ever see you again, I will kill you." With that said, I turn I jump out the window. I unfurled my fourteen feet of brown wings and down stroked. I glided down the city streets not caring who saw me.

Oh, by the way I was in New York (just thought you should know). I landed on a gravel roof, tripped and fell. I felt a warm liquid flow from my nose; blood. I didn't care. It probably would have hurt like a bitch if I didn't have other pains. Emotional pains. That kind of pain hurts far worse than any physical pain. I was still in shock. How could they. After all I have done for them; this is how they repay me. No stop it, Max. Don't start to self-pity yourself. That's what they want. I don't need them. I can do better without them.

I had been so lost in my thought I let my guard down. "What's wrong Maxy?" Ari said with mocking concern.

"Look who happened to drop by!" I sneered.

"Well it's my job to keep you busy." He threw a punch, but I dodged it. I did a roundhouse kick but he caught my foot and twisted it. I fell to the ground. "You're predictable, Maximum!" He said triumphantly. I could not let him beat me. I kicked my foot under his legs and he fell I got up quickly and jumped off the side of the building.

I flew around pointless for the rest of the day and eventually found a place to sleep; at the top of a huge pine tree. Looked pretty descent for the night.
