The girl lingered her way to the living room, in the little corner stood a dark wooden piano. She sat down and played some keys. A melody she's had stuck in her head ever since she was created. She never understood why but there was something missing, it sounded soft but fragmented. She replayed it over and over. It never seemed right no matter how fast, slow, hard or added notes she played.
The boy sat on the black cushioned chair, his fingers danced across the keys of the grey electric piano. He felt like something was absent, missing, fragments, he couldn´t figure it out. He played the piece in different tones, higher, lower, rougher, nothing. He stopped playing and left the room, silent.
She bumped into him, or maybe, it was the other way around, but that´s how they first met, even though they hardly acknowledged each other. Just a quick glance, they won´t even bother to remember each other´s faces. Just another stranger in the big school.
They stood in the same classroom waiting patiently for the teacher.
His beautiful eyes kept on flickering from the girl to something behind her, she took a glanced back, then turned back to face him. The girl nodded and he walked over to the piano. She shifted her position to get a better view of him.
He starts playing a melody on the black, polished, grande piano; it was harsh, angry and hurt. After he played the same keys over and over for a minute or so, she walked over to him as he continued on. His expression was frustrated, confused and concentrated, he didn't even notice the girl standing so close, next to him. She starts playing her tune, the one she´s played for forever, the one that´s been engraved in her head. Hers was gentle and calming giving the slightest bit of empathy. Somehow, these two different pieces of music matched perfectly together like puzzle pieces, creating something beautiful and unique. They finished at the same key and looked at one another.
