It/They Live Below
One of the first undersea bases, Yam; named after a sea god of the Canaanite pantheon. Nothing seems right about it. Records in its computers and manifestos indicate that people were there… and now nobody is. Blood slicks certain hallways, sticky prints of a strange nature are near several doors, and there is not a single piece of evidence to tell the new residents and scientists what has taken place. Only one thing gives a certain few true fear of what may have occurred: a sealed container with a missing key and the words "Black Lagoon" in bold on it. A sealed portion of the station that is not on the plans haunts with its name: Blood Fish.
Michael Reed fears the dark. Rather, he is afraid of what is beyond the station's lights, in the "black water" as he calls it. Samantha Lawrence, or Sam, is bothered by the fact that it feels like she and another few personnel have ties to each other, and some mysterious hand-written letters that soon show up after arrival. Matt Talbot Williams has a number of goals in mind, all involving the station, and a certain number of people in particular.
What has occurred here in this place named after a violent sea god? No bodies or remains, no evidence. At least so it would seem. Another party has a secret unhealthy interest in the base. They did in the beginning, and they still do. Certain spiritual and scientific beliefs shall be challenged, and morality and ethics shall be questioned. And all the while… it simply watches and listens. It always does that.

Future book idea involving water deities and myths like in Sega's Ocean Hunter arcade game. Mystery, suspense, Christianity, fiction all brought together. Ideas and input appreciated.
