Perenelle

Carry my voice,

It whispers words, lost to me,

It sings softly, calling you.

While I'm trapped in this Hell,

I am not alone.

I speak with the invisible,

The shadows that man fears.

Hear the wind,

As it speaks of your tales,

Hear the storm,

As it tells me of your journey.

How I wish to be with you,

To wipe away your alone.

To whisper in your ear that it will be all right,

To carry the burden you so willingly bear.

My love, how can you carry on?

When all you have has been taken from you?

But I will find you,

I will escape.

And we shall save the world, together.

But you know, as well as I do,

That the light at the end of the tunnel is imminent.

I no longer fear death,

I no longer weep tears of sorrow for my dying soul.

How much I want to give up, to give in,

To finally let go.

How I want to release all the sorrows I feel,

And to cross over into Eternity.

But I will not die,

Not while you still live, My Love.

I will not die while encaged like a beast,

I will die free.

I never thought of death before,

It was like a dark shadow at the edge of a room.

But now it is all I think of,

It haunts my dreams,

And stalks my every waking moment.

But I no longer fear death.

And these tears I cry are not for me,

They are for you, my Nicholas.

I weep because I know that you will carry on,

Long after I am dead,

Because you will not rest, until the humani are saved.

But I will not go down, not without a fight,

For I am the immortal and equally infamous Sorceress.

But I will find you, whether dead or alive.

For you, my Nicholas, My Love,

Are my everything, my ultimate, and my light.

You are my Eternity.

This is what I envision Perenelle would say to Nicholas while she was trapped in Alcatraz and he was roaming France and England trying to teach Sophie and Josh Newman.

It is suppose to be a sad poem, for, in her sight, there is no hope. But she will not give in nor will she give up. But Perenelle tells Nicholas that they cannot cheat death forever, and soon they will die.

But the ending is hopeful, because it shows, even through all the eternal torment the immortal couple is, they are still intertwined with love, and they are everything to each other.

But, no matter what happens, Perenelle Flamel, the Sorceress, will not go down without a fight . . .
