You have oftened dreamed, of a far off place. Where a great warm welcome will be waiting for you...
Kurt clutched the phone tight to his ear, pulling the blanket around him. Every night at 11, Blaine called him. He called him just to sing, Blaine knew it helped Kurt sleep. After the day with Karofsky, he woke up screaming in terror. He told Blaine about the problem and he came up with this idea. It had helped, a lot, more than he would ever admit to Blaine.
Where the crowds will cheer, when they hear your voice. And my voice keeps saying, this is where you're meant to be.
That line always hit Kurt the most. At first, Blaine would just sing the song and wait to hear Kurt's soft snores fill the phone. Recently he had started changing everything to fit Kurt's name. He always buried his face deeper into the pillow and blushed. The things that Blaine made feel always tried to show themselves late at night but he pushed them back and kept listening to Blaine's beautiful voice.
You will find your way, I'll help you go the distance. You'll be there some day, with me you'll be strong.
He knew the tears were already falling and he let them. Why did Blaine have to sing it like that? Like Kurt actually meant something in the world... Like Kurt meant something to HIM. It killed him inside as he thought of the courage Blaine gave him in his time of need. Maybe with Blaine, he could forget everything and move on... Move on to something better. Move on to Blaine.
I know every mile will be worth my while. I would go most anywhere to make you feel like you.. belong.
That line was Blaine singing to him. He knew it. He meant it. Blaine had to feel something to go out of his way like this. At this point, his eyes started to droop as Blaine hummed along to an imaginary beat. He always wondered if Blaine listened to the song or if he sang it from the heart. Kurt liked to believe it was from the heart.
You are on your way. You can go the distance. You don't care how far. With me you'll be strong! I know every mile would be worth my while, I would go most anywhere with you Kurt Hummel to find where you belong..
Blaine smiled as he heard Kurt's snores fill the phone. His finger lingered over the button before he said his usual last words that Kurt would never hear.
I love you Kurt and I'll always be there for you whilst you go the distance.
