I recently realized that the Doctor has only had male nurses traveling with him. Ever. And two at that!

The tall young man dashed through the streets, trying to avoid the people, but unfortunately-
"Oof!"
"Sorry, sorry-"
"Oi! What do you think you're doing, scurryin' 'round like 'hat? You could 'urt someone!"
"Listen, sir, I'm sorry, but-"
"You're near a hospi'al! Slow down!"
"A hospital? Where?"
"Right o'er there. St Gard's. It's where I work."
"So…so you're a doctor, then?"
"No, not yet. Staff nurse Schoefield. Hex to my friends."
"Really? I-I'm a nurse too-"
"Why 'aven't I seen ya on staff?"
"Oh, I'm not from here, I'm j-just-"
"Visitin'? With a Doctor friend, perhaps?"
"How do you-"
"You've got that general air of…a mind-numbed sense of the uncanny. I've met 'im before. Wouldn't fancy meetin' up with him again." Hex lowered his voice to a whisper. "We par'ed under…less than favorable circumstances." Straightening, he looked the shorter man in the eye. "Tell 'im 'ello from an old friend."
"I…I'll see if I can."
"Hey, wait! Anyone else with you?"
"Y-yeah, my…my wife. Amy."
"Oh." Hex's amiable expression fell and became serious. "Well. You're a lucky man. Keep good 'old of her. I had a girl like that once…fell right through my fingers. In this day and age…."Shaking off the memories, Hex turned to go. "Oh, and you might try lookin' in the warehouse to the left. Got to run!"
Waving, Hex dashed off to his scooter, leaving the unnamed Rory in the midst of the crowd. "Warehouse…to the left…Hex…."Shaking his head, he continued walking. "I told the Doctor the 2020's would be absolutely mad."
