She had kissed him.

And now Gansey was dead.

The clearing in Cabeswater was silent as they all stared at Blue standing in front of his body.

"How could you, Blue" Noah said from somewhere behind Adam.

"I didn't mean to, I swear" she said between shaking breaths, "I never wanted him to die"

"You knew" Adam sounded sounded colder than anyone had ever heard him, "you knew he was going to die from the day you met us"

Cabeswater seamed to respond to Adam's anger. The trees shook like they were hit by a strong wind. But there wasn't even a breeze.

"Calm down Adam" Ronan said sensing the change.

"She killed Gansey" he shouted, "Don't tell me to calm down"

Ronan started to speak a steady stream of Latin to try to stop what ever Adam was going to do.

But it didn't listen.

The wind started to blow a blizzard of dried leaves around Blue. It blew faster and faster till it created a vacuum around her. From where Blue was there was no air, nothing to breath in.

Outside the vacuum, the boys saw Blue struggle to take a breath.

"Adam, that's enough" Ronan tried to say calmly.

But he didn't. He let Cabeswater go on until Blue fell lifeless beside Gansey.

The wind stopped and the clearing was silent and still.
