A/N: Okay, this had just popped into my head at once. I was talking to a friend and BOOM! It just was there.... And now I'm writing it with Cynthia! Yay! :) And this story is titled after the song, 'Runaway Love' by Ludacris, feat. Mary J. Blige. Enjoy!
Prologue
(Annie's pov)
I was quickly packing and yet was being as silent as I could be. This was the only time I had to run. My father off on another business trip and my mother out to pick up another guy. I couldn't take any more of living in this house. 16 years of hell here and I just had to get out. Or I might go crazy and do something drastic.
'Annie dear, your fathers on another trip, so please make yourself useful and go to your room while me and Mark here go...'talk'...'
'Annie, to get respect you have to earn it and frankly you haven't earn it from me,'
'Can't you do one damn thing right?! I told you to fucking clean! Now clean this damn room up you damn poor excuse for a child!'
'You pitiful little thing! You think you got it so bad, don't you? Well, Annie let me tell you something, you don't have it half as bad as you could have it, so suck it up and fucking deal!'
I shook my head, trying to clear away past memories.
"No," I whispered to my silent room. I wasn't gonna freeze up and stop, no I couldn't. I had to get out of here.
I wished there was another way, like getting emancipated, but of course they'd have to let my parents know about that and I couldn't allow that. They'd never allow that. Yeah, sure they talked about kicking me but if I tried to leave.... Never. They would drag me back. So the only choice I had left was to runaway.
I had a few pillows on my bed, which I covered with my blanket and sheet. It might not fool them for long but it might just slow them down.
I zipped up my duffel bag and slung it over my shoulder. With one final look around my room, I hit the switch turning off the light in my room. I closed my door and headed down the stairs. I headed for the front door, where I knelt down and pulled on my shoes. I stood up then and slipped out the door, locking it behind me, so my mother wouldn't get suspicious when she returned home.
I stood there on my doorstop in the cool evening air for a moment. I walked down the steps and up the driveway. When I reached the end of the driveway, I stood there for a moment. I drunk in the fact that no one had stopped me so far and I was almost free. I swallowed nervously, and looked around. No one around. Most people were inside their homes with their families....... I took a deep breath and pulled my hood up over my head. I then took off down the sidewalk. Better get as far away from here as I can.
No telling when the chase would begin.
A/N: Yeah, it's short but it is the prologue! And John comes into the next chapter....maybe...hehe Cynthia's writing the next chapter! Hope you liked it! Review!
