Title:
Forgotten
Word Count: 318 words
Summary: Christmastime during
DH and Ginny has been forgotten.
A/N: This is dedicated to
thevioletphoenix, I hope this is okay. I tried to write Harry/Ginny
and since I sucked at that, I tried to make it more angsty, but
apparently I suck at that as well….
Disclaimer: Poor, sad,
forgotten Ginny isn't mine.
Ginny stared out the window at the swirling snow with dismay. She was curled up in the window seat in the 6th year girl's dorm in the Gryffindor tower, her thoughts, as messy as the storm she was watching, all centered around one person. It wasn't a new feeling, but there was a new edge to it. Harry was somewhere out there with Ron and Hermione and Dumbledore wasn't around to protect them. Her stomach hadn't been the same since they left; it was always tied up in knots and some days she had a hard time keeping anything down. Her parents had made her stay here for Christmas this year. It would be too dangerous to go home and back. Even though she knew it was true and her family was only looking out for her, she felt left out. She'd been up since 6a.m. hoping for at least an owl from Harry. She'd already opened all her other presents, but didn't feel like she could enjoy her new cloak or find anything funny about the new products Fred and George had sent her. The other girls would be coming up soon from dinner and then she'd have to pretend to be sick, which was the reason she'd given for staying in the dorm all day. She peered at an odd speck in the sky, leaning forward, silently hoping it would be an owl, bringing her a letter from Harry. It was just a bat. She sighed and sat back again. She heard noise on the stairs just then and dashed for her bed. Snuggled in she resigned herself to the fact that Harry had forgotten her. She didn't blame him. They had broken up and he had more important things to be doing. But all the same, the pang of loneliness hit her hard. It wasn't the first, nor, she knew, would it be the last.
