Next Generation
Harry James Potter awoke to the sound of bacon sizzling and the smell of fresh coffee. He sniffed the air once more and rolled out of bed. He grabbed his wand and glasses off the bedside table after changing out of his pajamas. He smiled as he heard voices in the kitchen below.
"Mummy, when is daddy gonna wake up?"
"He'll be up soon honey."
"He sleeps to much. Can I go wake him up?"
"No dear. I told you he'll be done soon."
"Pweese?"
"No Jenny."
"Ok"
Harry heard a chair scraping and figured their daughter had sat down. When he finished changing he went down stairs and entered the kitchen. He took in the scene before him and smiled as his wife turned to him.
"Morning babe." Said his wife as she pecked him on the cheek.
"Morning Gin." He replied, using his pet nickname for her.
"Me next, me next!"
Harry smiled as a little girl with flaming red hair and green eyes tugged his pant leg.
"You next, you next! He replied.
He lifted her high in the air and spun her, smiling as she cackled in glee.
"Can we go flying after we eat daddy?" she asked.
"Yes, but only for a while. Remember, we're having lunch at uncle Ron and aunt Hermione's later."
"I know."
Harry smiled as she ran off to play. She is the youngest of their three children, Jenny, Sirius-James, and Hannah. Jenny is four and has her mother's hair and his emerald green eyes. Sirius-James and Hannah are twins and are ten. Sirius-James is a spitting image of his father while Hannah is a mirror image of her mum. Both are soon to be eleven and are anxiously awaiting their Hogwarts letters. Harry laughed as Sirius-James and Hannah bounded in.
"Now what have you two done?" he asked the guilty looking kids.
"Nothing dad." they replied in perfect unison.
Just then there was a scream from upstairs and Jenny cam running in holding her kitten, Randy, with tears rolling down her face.
"DADDIE THEY PUT RANDY IN THE POTTIE!!!" she howled, holding up a soggy kitten.
Harry looked up at his two oldest children and he knew at once they did it.
"You two apologize to your sister and go get cleaned up for breakfast."
The two looked down at their feet. "Sorry Jenny."
The little girl just huffed and turned to Harry. "Will you dry him daddy? kitties don't like wet."
Harry took the kitten and dried him off with a spell and Jenny bounched away happily.
Harry wrapped his arms around his wife, Ginny, and playfully nibbled her ear. She smiled and leaned into his embrace. She pulled away as the breakfast finished cooking. As she pulled the pans off the stove, Harry called the children and set the table. Everyone sat and began filling their plates.
Harry looked around the table at his family and smiled. The war had ended, he married his school sweetheart, and the wizarding world was recovering well. His children were safe and happy and he could now live a nearly normal life. He raised his glass and silently toasted. To the next generation.
