True Destiny: Prologue: The Myth That Brought The Legend (Thanx Max_chan)
Ranma was looking through Hopposai's collection of pornography magazines for an "eat-all-you-want-for-free buffet" voucher he remembered seeing in an issue of Playboy magazine.
'Where is it? Where is it? I know it is n here somewhere,' Ranma searched frantically, sending underwear and bikinis flying across the room.
'I'll find it if it is the last thing I do,' he cursed under his breath, 'I bet the old thing has taken it.'
He searched for some more, tipping out the contents of drawers and emptying wardrobes. As he scanned under the bed for more Playboy magazines, he came across an old beaten suitcase. It was beautiful, made with reddish brown leather with brandish handle and locks. Ranma knew that the suitcase held Hopposai's most priced possessions. Hopposai takes it everywhere with him, dating back to when Genma and Soun were young and handsome. No one has ever been allowed near it. Ranma was not afraid of the aging Hopposai. Curiousity got the better of him. With one mischievous glance at the door, making sure that he was alone, he turned the key which has been carelessly left in its lock by its owner.
The contents of the suitcase wasn't very interesting. There were underwear and bikinis, but they were more elaborate than the others, (they would fit in perfectly in Nabiki's wardrobe) they were obviously the best of Hopposai's collection. There were also naked pictures of a young Cologne.
*I have always known that he fancied her* Seeing that nothing in the suitcase resembled an "eat-all-you-want-for-free buffet" voucher, Ranma put the suitcase back. That was when he saw it. It was a thick book, the cover was made with the same material as the suitcase, and it was bound by the same brandish metal. Ranma thought it was another one of Hopposai's many training manuals. He had never paid any attention to training manuals, he had always thought of it as a cure for sleepless nights. But then, why was he drawn towards this one? He picked it up despite himself and turned to the first page.
The book told the story of the Jusenkyou springs, each one with its own legends. Ranma quickly skipped the first few chapters to the part on the nyan-nii-chuan - the drowned spring of the girl, his own fateful mishap. He was eager to learn more about the spring. He wanted information on how the effect of the spring can be reversed. He was surprised to note that he was a part of the nyan-nii-chuan legend. He skimmed the chapter, horrified at what the legend told. He turned to the back of the book. There was a gap, big enough for a finger in the thick inside back cover of the book. It looked like one of those latches on trapdoors that you have to prise open. As Ranma turned to the page, a tiger-eye stone fell out. There was inscription on the stone:
"To reverse the curse of Jusenkyou,
you must risk all and lose all
life, love, family, friendship."
