Samantha Lopez:
At the age of eighteen, I went through Rookie Academy and graduated at top of my class. I became a Rookie with the State Troopers in Maryland and moved my way up the ranks. By the time I was twenty, I had been undercover more than 125 times. I was good at being undercover because I looked so young. At one point, I was undercover for approximately eight months, trying to put away the worst Drug Dealer in Maryland. I guess that's how I was recognized by NCIS, I don't really know. One day I went to work as a State Trooper and the next day I'm reporting to Director Vance at NCIS, where I'm to start my new job.
My first impression at NCIS, was that it was way to clean and that nobody really did any field work. I was wrong. Two months into my being an investigator, an Agent Gibbs gets me assigned to his team and everything is going great until four months later and we are handed the case of a serial killer. And he's not just any serial killer, his specialty in killing was taking out law enforcement officers of any branch. It didn't matter if you were in the military or just a regular cop, he didn't care.
With almost 150 bodies piling up in morgues around the city and now way of finding out where the Ghost was staying or how he was picking out his victims, NCIS was at a loss. This guy hadn't just eluded NCIS, but had also eluded the FBI, all Law Enforcement Officials, the military and at the moment, the BAU. Nobody knew where he was, nobody knew what he looked like and nobody knew when he was going to strike next.
That was, nobody knew when he was going to strike next until now. I had just picked up my daughter from my parents house and we had driven to an Ice Cream parlor to get the usual. It was a Thursday, which meant Ice Cream night with Katie. Katie loved going to the Ice Cream Parlor down the block from our apartment. Normally we walked to the Parlor but because I picked her up from my parents house and was driving that way anyways, we just continued to the small Parlor. As we were getting out of the car, I heard the screech of tires and turned to look around.
I felt the sting of a bullet hit my hip and fell to the ground. I managed to crawl a few feet before he came back and turned me over. He aimed the gun at me and I was able to get one loud scream out before he pulled the trigger four times. Before losing consciousness, I saw Katie get out of the car and run for the Parlor for help only to be shot in the back. I watched my daughter hit the ground as if lifeless. He took one last look at me and then disappeared into the night. I heard people running outside to see what had happened and then heard someone yelling for someone to call the paramedics. As my world went black, I could hear the sirens in the background, rushing to the scene.
And I knew that NCIS, the FBI and the BAU you be all over the scene...
