My dear, dear children, my students
Young as you are and were,
Old as you are and shall be,
Whatever your potential,
My sons and daughters.
Time is short.
Though a family of means,
Or a family of one,
Listen, children.
Time is short.
As it rises in east,
As it sets in west,
It is the breathtaking light,
Follow the light unto its own death,
And do not stray from the path you choose.
Time is short
Be together,
Be friends,
And sleep,
For you know not when the next opportunity for it shall come
I, too, shall sleep.
For my time, too, may be short,
Children.
