I don't quite remember where we were. The population sign coming into town had been covered with snow. The five of us rented a cabin just outside of town to lay low for a few days before heading back home to Los Angeles. I'm not sure if Hannibal even realized that there was snow on the ground. He continued to act as if seeing snow was natural to us. Even though living in the Los Angeles underground for so long, snow was one of the most eccentric things anyone of us has seen. BA just shrugged, muttering something about how Chicago got much worse winters than this. Murdock's eyes had lit up, like a child on Christmas morning and hurried outside to make snow angels. Amy was surprised at seeing the snow. I wonder if she's ever seen snow before. However, she didn't seem to be upset about the cold. She spent a lot of time cuddled on the sofa with cup of hot cocoa writing and reviewing her notes for her next story. I stayed indoors next to the fireplace as long as I could. It was just way too cold out there for me.
I could hear Amy chuckling at me as she looked up from her notes again to watch me. I had a cotton blanket wrapped around me as I huddled as close to the fire in the fireplace as I physically could. Through the window, I could see Murdock attempting to make a snow man, even though the snow was too soft.
"Here," her sweet voice said as she sat beside me and handed me a mug of hot cocoa. "This will help warm you up."
"Thanks Kid," I said as I smiled my gratitude to her.
"Your welcome Face," she said in such a way I knew that a tease was not too far away. "I thought you said you once dated a girl who's father owned a ski resort."
I never told her that, even though it was true. "It wasn't open in the summertime," I plainly responded.
She shook her head, chuckling as she walked back to her notes. "I should have known," she said, "I should have known."
I don't know what it is about her, but from all the laughs, long talks, teases, and practical jokes, I know there is something about her that I like.
