So this is really short (more of a drabble, really) and inspired by the song "Smile in Your Sleep" by Silverstein. So many "s"'s... So even though the story's only 191 words, enjoy~!
The darkness wrapped around him, constricting him, choking him, suffocating him. The thoughts that ran through his head blended with his reality. He lay next to her, not breathing. Her back to him, he could see the paleness of the skin on her back, the golden strand of hair that poured from her head.
He touched her cautiously with his darker hand, cinnamon and silver. He imagined the crimson staining it, and it looked so beautiful. Suddenly, remembering her, his Clarisse, and Pierre, and her smiling in her sleep. The organ imploded, he gasped for air, and something whispered now.
Arnaud grabbed the blade off the bedside table. Ezio rolled her over to kiss her. Altair drove the blade into her heart. Desmond watched her pale blue eyes cry and fade.
Her red lips opened, her mouth filling with the crimson as she gasped. Lung and heart; two birds with one stone. "Desmond…!" And the silver and gold dulled, and he stared at two gray stones staring back at him.
Arnaud twisted his lips into a crooked smile.
Ezio sat back and whispered, "Requiescat in pace."
Altair yanked the steel out.
Desmond cried.
They breathed relief.
Lucy flew.
