Friday night in a bar in Quantico, Virginia. The BAU had just returned from a particularly harrowing case, and felt it necessary to destress from the events.
Derek Morgan was currently extremely drunk.
"Emily get down from there!" He yelled drunkenly towards Emily who was on top of the table dancing. She kicked his hand out of the way and jumped off the table.
Reid laughed and took a swig of the liquid in front of him. He wasn't particularly sure what it was but it tasted pretty good. It wasn't his normal behaviour but he was a lightweight and once JJ had forced him to drink one glass; he found he couldn't stop.
Morgan laughed drunkenly as Rossi came down from the stage where had been singing an awful rendition of 'Help!'
He made an attempt to take a seat and promptly fell onto the floor below the table.
JJ giggled from her spot next to Hotch.
Hotch was the only one who wasn't drunk. He had a glass of red wine in front of him but it was still half full. Even if his whole team was drunk out of their minds; he wanted to maintain an air of authority even now.
JJ grabbed the glass and gulped it down in one. "Come on Hotch lighten up."
"Lemonade will suit me fine Jennifer," He smiled, as she glared at him, before storming off into the crowd on the dancefloor.
Derek was now gone, completely disappeared onto the dancefloor, where the top of his head could be seen in the centre of a group of very young girls.
Rossi had managed to struggle his way off of the floor and was now drunkenly making his way to the bar.
Emily turned to Reid, who was now gently humming to himself, eyes closed, swaying back and forth.
"Dance with me Pretty Boy," Emily shouted, startling the younger man out of his revere.
Emily held her hand out, waiting for him to reciprocate the action. He paused, looking slowly from her hand to her face, before outstretching his hand and taking hers. She grinned, dragging to the dancefloor.
A slow song began playing and even if the flashing lights of the club, Emily could see that Reid had gone bright red. Typical of him, even when flat out drunk he was still awkward as ever.
"You know, I've never said this before but I always thought you were really pretty." Reid said, ducking his head immediately after he spoke.
"Why are you embarrassed? Emily asked, moving her hand underneath his chin.
"Because it's you," He said, as if that was the absolute answer to the question.
"Have you ever kissed a girl before?" Emily asked, and Reid looked slightly affronted.
"Of course I have!" He said, as and if trying to prove that he had, leant forward, taking Emily completely by surprise and kissed her.
Emily was surprised by how good it felt, it had been a long time since she'd kissed anyone.
It felt incredible, suddenly she felt that there was no one else in the world. She wouldn't remember leaving the club with Reid, not saying goodbye to anyone, not until the morning anyway.
