A/N I've made Wednesday and Joel a little older than the film, about 16/17 and I've also made Pugsley the older brother which he is in the original cartoon strips.
Go ahead and review guys! Thanks!
Debbie Jellinsky's grave was still fresh when Fester and Dementia married.
'What a beautiful couple.' The Addams' cooed. Wednesday sneered at the sickening romance before her; Cousin Itt and Margaret with baby What curled between on them on chaise lounge, Fester and Dementia waltzed across the ballroom floor in the first dance and they were soon joined by her parents who tangoed around the room, lost in the passion between them.
Wednesday dodged the offer of dance after dance from various cousins and relatives before escaping to the edge of the ballroom, champagne flute in hand. She surveyed the disturbing euphoria with a slight nauseous taste in her mouth; passion and romance just wasn't her thing. However as if the evening could not get any worse, she spied Joel Glicker from across the room, even from her hidden niche she could see he was slightly nervous, but there was also a change in him, he stood tall and proud and surveyed the room, the only sign of hesitation was a quick playing with his hands. Wednesday groaned inwardly.
She did not like the way Joel Glicker made her feel. Not at all. It wasn't her.
However she buried the feelings, locking them away in the Iron Maiden of her soul and stood, ready to scare him like she did when Jellinsky was first buried when Desiree Addams got to the confident young man first. Desiree was like Debbie; carnivorous, she ate men alive (acquitted on a lack of evidence) but Desiree was a more stereotypical beauty and integrated with the normal world a lot easier; that's what made her so dangerous.
She watched her 20 something cousin practically drool over Joel while Wednesday edged closer, hiding behind the thick grey column that supported the ballroom. She heard the sickening sweet noise of Desiree flirting; flicking her long blonde hair, bouncing her rather ample chest, any other man would've given in instantly, but Joel seemed to be stronger. Wednesday huffed as she watched her cousin lean against him, complimenting his physique, his voice, his face, how hot he looked in glasses, how they'd be the next Gomez and Morticia. Wednesday seethed at the older woman's desperation, but her anger melted when Joel, now bored of the attention finally caught her eye and winked. He brushed the blonde off and walked over to Wednesday, who with a rather smug grin, waved to a deflated Desiree.
"Hello Miss Addams." He bent to kiss her hand, Wednesday could almost feel the blood rising to her face, she was Wednesday Addams, she did not blush.
"Mr Glicker, how wonderful you could make it." She practically stammered.
"Do you still not believe in love Wednesday?" Joel sighed as he led her to the edge of the ballroom, under Morticia's watchful eye, Gomez was far too interested in the soft French words pouring from her lips.
"I am doubting myself." She answered honestly, Joel smiled. Morticia, from her place in the room watched the exchange with a soft smile as well. She knew her daughter had not yet discovered the passion that lay in both the Addams and Frump bloodline, but with a little push from Mr Glicker, she'd discover the adult world with such a loving and tender husband. She smiled again, leaving her daughter to her intimate exchange with Joel and turned to her ever amorous husband.
"Mon cher."
"Tish, that's French."
