Two pink lines. Julia knew she was pregnant. She was sure she had been pregnant, now she was absolutely sure of it. (This was her third pregnancy test that month). She also knew she had to tell Eli. Soon. Before he had to find out the hard way. She had to tell his parents, Cece and Bullfrog, too. But she would never get the chance to tell them (she didn't know that at the time, though).

Knock, knock.

"Julia? Is everything okay in there?" Eli asked, "You've been in there for a while now. You coming out soon?"

"Yeah, I'm okay," she said, as she quickly threw the pregnancy test wrapper in the garbage.

She opened the door and found him standing outside of the bathroom. She gave him a smile, but she knew he could tell something was wrong.

"Can we take Morty for a spin?" she asked. She knew he loved to take Morty for a spin at spontaneous moments.

"Yeah, sure," he said, "Anything for you, Julia."

He then kissed her for what would be the last time; went to get his car keys, and they went out the front door.

They got in Morty and she then looked back at his house for what would be the very last time.

"Our bikes are in the back. I thought we could go for a bike ride at the park," he told her as they were cruising down the street, "So, what was it that you wanted to talk about?"

"Do you remember when I moved in? And how we slept together?"

"What are you trying to tell me, Jules? You know we can tell each other anything, which is what we always do." He paused. "We do tell each other everything, right?"

'Well, mostly."

"Mostly? I'm scared to find out where this is going."

"Eli- I-I-I'm pregnant! There! I said it! Are you happy now?" she said, sobbing between every sob.

He slammed on the brakes really hard and Morty skidded to a stop. Then it suddenly started to pour with huge raindrops that reminded her of the characters' sweat drops they would get on those anime cartoons she and Eli would watch every Saturday morning together in their pajamas.

It seemed like a long time before either of them said anything.

"What did you say?" his brain, not comprehending what she just said because he was still in shock.

"I. Am. Pregnant." She repeated, making each word its own sentence.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"Yes, I'm sure. This was my third test, just this month."

"How long?"

"What?"

"How long have you been pregnant?" he asked.

"About three months, I think," she said.

"So, are you- we going to keep it?" he asked.

"I don't know," she said, "three months isn't really a lot of time to plan for a baby. I don't think I want to keep it."

"Well you can't get an abortion! It's not right! It's not fair!" Eli blurted out.

The rain started falling even harder, drowning out the sound of their fight.

"It's my baby, my body! I can get an abortion if I want to!" Julia said defending herself.

"Well, Julia it's my baby too! I should have a say in what we should do! Didn't you think for even a second about how I would feel about your decision?" he shouted at her.

"I said I was sorry, okay?" she apologized again. But he wouldn't even look at her; he just kept on driving down the road.

"Stop the car! Eli, stop the car now!"

He put the hearse in a complete stop and looked at her.

"What is it?" he asked her.

"I can't take it anymore! I'm taking my bike and my baby and going home!" she said, "Unlock the trunk, Eli!"

"Julia, baby, let me drive you. Please."

"No. Unlock the trunk now." she said, tears running down her cheeks.

He sighed, unlocked the trunk, and she got out and got her bike. She got on it and started pedaling for home, still bawling her eyes out.

"Julia!" he called after her.

But it was already too late. She was gone. Forever. Just like that.
