Sirius had been struggling for weeks on end for an idea to win over Remus. Several he tried, like sending anonymous owl mails with sappy poems attached or getting the house elves to send him up a plate of food in the shape of a heart. Other ideas he let go, like asking Remus to go fetch a note from the giant squid that would ask him to go to Hogsmeade with Sirius.

After spending too many hours with no clue how to impress Remus, Sirius thought the best thing to do was to consult James. He was wrong.

"James, I am not doing that!"

"Why? What can possibly make Moony say no?"

"Why? First of all, Moony won't like being a damsel in distress, second of all, where am I supposed to get a horse and learn how to ride it?" How could James even think this was a good idea?

"You don't need to get a horse, you can ride Prongs and we'll put some lightening charms on you so you don't break my back."

Unfortunately, Sirius was starting to consider this a possibility.

"Okay, but how are we going to make sure Moony will fall out the window and I'll be ready to catch him? If I don't catch him he'll get really hurt, and he spends enough time in the hospital wing already."

"We can get Wormy to push him from underneath the invisibility cloak or something," James answered, "and we can stand a little way away from the window and I'll go charging in with you on my back ready to catch him, the only thing is we'll have to make sure Pete casts a lightening charm on him too, or we'll all go sprawling and end up in the hospital wing."

"Fine, fine, we have to do it today though, tomorrow's a Hogsmeade weekend."

"Let's go find Wormtail, tell him and then go push Remus out a window."

"James, if this goes wrong I'll have your head."

And with that, they left to find the slightly podgy boy.

Sirius was armed in a suit of armour and a strong lightening charm cast on him, sitting on Prongs' back under the History of Magic corridor window, outside in the frosty wind and crackly grass. Peter was trailing behind Remus, making sure he went to the correct window on his was back from the library and also to cast the lightening charm on him, too.

Prongs was stomping around on the frozen grass impatiently, the chilly, November wind still getting through his thick fur.

"Will you stop it? I'm nervous enough without you wriggling around." Sirius' voice shook, a sign that he really was nervous and not just at the thought of not catching Remus in time.

The stag bucked his head apologetically then lifted his leg to stomp on the ground twice to let Peter know they were ready.

Seconds later, a surprised scream came from the window 8 feet above. Sirius looked up and saw Remus falling slowly through the air -an idea Sirius thought necessary, just in case.

James charged.

Sirius' breath caught.

Remus fell.

And fell.

Then, Remus was breathing heavily against Sirius' chest. Sirius sighed in relief and hugged Remus closer to him.

Remus swallowed. "Did you plan this?"

Shit. Of course he knew. "Uhh... well, really Prongs planned it, I really just followed through, I'm sorry, Moony."

"You could have just asked me, you know"

"Asked you what?" Sirius asked, confused.

"Asked me to Hogsmeade, you didn't have to go through all this and nearly kill me, I would have said yes."

"You- you would have said yes? So I didn't have to think up all of those sappy poems? Why didn't you just say so?!"

"I wanted you to ask and I wanted to see more of your extraordinary ideas." Remus smirked.

"So will you? Go with me to Hogsmeade, I mean." Sirius asked.

"Yeah, why not?" Remus smiled.

Sirius grinned a wolfish grin and leaned forward to kiss Remus, before he had a chance though, Prongs bucked and they both went flying.
