'Here,' He said. 'Let me help you.' He took her hand guiding it through a motion she had known, only just the other day. Sighing she twisted the light in her hands into a bizarre shape hoping to gain a laugh from her quiet friend. He seldom laughed with her anymore or she mused, had he ever laughed with her at all? She could remember so little about this vessels life just a few names and times of this Childs existence, it made her sad to know that she was missing the things he needed most.
Holding the light to her bosom she wished her William would be happy, that she could make him happy. A silent tear ran down her face dropping to the light below. Bubbling and twisting it began to grow, to form a sapient- like shape. smiling up at him she continued to spill her light into the human shaped glob, watching as it filled out to form a baby. A giggle escaped the creature and it began to crewn, while swatting at her fingers.
Cupping the baby in her palms she giggled herself as she felt energy bleed from the baby. Globbing out to form small portals, what power, and he wasn't even trying.
suddenly, seeming to forget all about her new toy she began bickering to herself, talking to someone that William could neither see nor hear. Turning away from her he sighed wishing for the first time since becoming human that he still possessed his vampiric coldness and detachment. Watching Dawn lose everything that she held dear; her memories, her very feeling of self as she lost her will and mind to this older power. .
'Yes, I must talk to Buffy soon about this.' She twirled the baby of greenish, giggling light between her fingers, making it emit a burst of laughter so shrill it almost heart the ears.
'But, Dawn, Buffy, she's been gone for ages now.' Here a pained expression came upon his face. Losing Buffy, then his own life or unlife as it were, and being brought back into this forced existence, it was sometimes a cruelty beyond words. But at times, when he could be beside Dawn in the sunlight, and see the girl he had once known shine through the veil of power that had taken over the control of the mind, he could understand why his soul had chosen to come back its prison of flesh; she needed him and he could never deny his Bit anything.
'Oh yes, I'd forgotten.' She said. Blinking her deep green eyes, seemingly out of focus. 'Only you are with me now, my William. You left me like all the others, but, I brought you back.' Smiling she turned back to her work, a glow coming to her eyes making them a deep florescent green. . .
