Sitting Quietly There
[A/N: This is ~insert dramatic gasp here~ ANOTHER poem, this time from Rachel's POV. It's rather depressing, mainly about what might have happened to her, if the others died, and she was all alone.]
Sitting quietly there,
Watching the petals fall,
The flame of a fire gone,
Watching her life go by.
All that was golden's gone now,
All that once glittered is dull,
The warrior's left her battle,
And the candle's flickering light,
Plays dirges on the walls.
The shadows on the ceiling,
Are past, and gone, alive,
Times that are past, going,
Times that haven't come, leaving.
All that was laughter is tears now,
All that was mirth is dead,
And the flicker of a fire's gone,
Gone, with the whisper of the dark.
The knowledge of a life long ago,
Has vanished with the wind,
The rain beating slowly 'gainst her window,
The sun setting quietly each night.
The moon's become cold and hard,
The paths of friendship,
Have become streets of Death,
And the things that were once truth,
Became lies of deceit.
All that was light became dark,
All that was dark was gone,
All that was music has changed now,
To the lament of a banshee.
All that she once loved is dead now,
The flower that he once gave is dead,
The petals withering and going,
With the candle's flickering,
Falling away,
With every beat of her heart.
Nothing's left for her now,
Her kin have all gone, beyond,
To a place, where pain is no more.
The flowers that once had color,
That once held beauty to her eyes,
Have withered, burnt, flickered away,
Become simple black and white.
Shades of gray play across a mane of gold, now,
Eyes that once held fire, have burned out.
The reckless soul was blazing bright,
Now, it's gone out, with lack of care,
With all cessation of feeling.
And all that's left is no life.
Sitting quietly there,
Watching the petals fall,
The flame of a fire gone,
Watching her life go by.
