"I do find humans so puzzling at times." Madame Vastra said with a sigh, settling back into her chair, teacup balanced on a saucer in her hand.

"Any particular reason why?" Jenny inquired, sitting on the chair opposite the one Madame Vastra was sitting on.

"Well today when I was out walking, I saw a young couple pressed up against a wall, kissing as if the world was going to end. They did not care that they were stood in the middle of the street in broad daylight. Humans are the only race that I can think of that would act in such a way." Madame Vastra explained, and took a sip of her tea.

"Well that's love for you ma'am." Jenny replied with a small smile, a sad look crossing her eyes. Although it was brief, Madame Vastra noticed, set aside her cup and saucer and reached across and took Jenny's hand.

"Jenny, my dear, I know I do not often show it, but I do love you. I sincerely hope you know that I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I may not be interested in showing the whole world whilst violating a wall but that does not mean I feel it in a weaker form." With that, Madame Vastra stood, pulling Jenny up with her and embraced her warmly. Jenny settled into the hug and smiled into Madame Vastra's shoulder.

"I know ma'am, I know."

Madame Vastra pulled away from the hug and held Jenny at arm's length, looking her in the eye,

"Truly though Jenny? Promise me you truly know it." Madame Vastra demanded softly.

"I know it as well as I know the day of the week, for I feel exactly the same way ma'am."

With that Madame Vastra pulled Jenny close to her once more and pressed her lips against Jenny's.

And all was well.
