Author- Okay, here goes nothing, my first fanfiction. The thing I have always liked about the Labyrinth, is that like the story of the Nutcracker ( yes, the ballet) and Peter Pan the heroine is left to think about where childhood ends and growing up starts. I can really relate to this as a teenager around Sarah's age, who has tried to hold on to childhood as my peers seem to runaway from it, at younger and younger ages. Wow, that was a lot deeper than it was supposed to be, anyways, enjoy and please review!
Disclaimer- I known nothing from the Labyrinth, this is not for profit, just for reader enjoyment.
Ivory Feather
I noticed, barely awake,
the only thing he left in his wake,
Was a single ivory feather,
from the man with the strange affinity for leather
Sometimes man, sometimes bird,
who spoke to me with honeyed words,
Nothing more than twisted lies
to distract from the child's cries
Was he a forgotten prince, out of lore
or a villain, nothing more,
My opponent matched me well,
putting me through the rings of hell,
Yet as he spun me in a dance,
I fell into a dream-like trance,
As he gazed from contrasting eyes,
my breath betrayed quiet sighs
Lips on mine
But we ran out of time,
As our lines were spoken
everything cracked, a crystal broken
As I dwelled upon his love,
I knew the plume was from no dove,
hearing a heart-breaking howl,
Realization upon me, it was from an owl
Please review, thanks!
