She wanted to damn everything and everyone to hell.
The snow. The laughter. The happy-o-lucky young couples. Even life itself. As far as she was concered her life ended when his did. Which had happened on this very day one year prior to her current standing in front of one particular tombstone. Christmas Eve.
Sakura stood there in an outdated and too long Pea coat which swallowed up her withering figure. She wasn't in the mood for a cheerful celebration consisting of eggnog, friends, and love; a celebration that was currently taking place at Ino-chan and Kiba-san's apartment. What she was in the mood for was grieving the loss of a loved one. A loved one who was so deeply connected to her very soul. The very soul which was now daily tormented by the painful departure of his presence.
Some thought it was ironic for Sakura to be troubled by a season that was so much like her passed beloved. Most people that snow suited Sasuke's personality to a T. Snow was like him in so many ways, cold, its patterns unpredictable, distance, and sometimes even bitter. But most people didn't know Sasuke the way Sakura did. His cold exterior was one that kept many people away, but not Sakura.
Many people did not know Sasuke as she did. They only saw him as a brood young man with only a few close friends and many dislikes(including one of his close friends). But, Sakura saw a side of him that most people did not see,. To Sakura, Sasuke was the ending of Autumn. On some days he may have had a bitter chill to him. On other days, when seen with his sun, he could be interpreted as a sensitive man with openings only for his sun. Sakura hated winter because of the way it rejected its sun and she new that her Autumn would never reject her.
Giving a quiet sigh, Sakura bowed her head slightly and let a few tears drop. Oh how she loathed winter and cruel way it took her cherished soul mate from her. Winter's jealousy of Autumn. Winter's hatred of Autumn. Dropping to her knees, Sakura grabbed onto Sasuke's tomb for dear life as heart wrenched sobs began to consume her body.
"Sakura."
She fought to control her cries as she heard the footsteps of a friend come near.
"Sakura." The arms of Uzuamki Naruto encircled her waist and pulled her from her grip on the cold tombstone.
"Naruto. I can't! I can't live!"
Naruto rocked her back and forth as her tried to calm her down. They stayed like that until they felt the snow stop falling.
Sakura broke away from Naruto's grasp to look up at the brightening cloudy blue sky. The sun trying to shine through. Staring at this rare sight , Sakura began to believe that she had finally won.
