A/N I wrote this in about 15 minutes because I just wanted to get it down. I know it's shorter than everything else I've done, but I was inspired by Elphaba'sGirl, whose oneshots are just amazing. This fic was inspired by her first called Grasshoppers, which is a great read. So, this is just a little fic about Elphaba's water allergy when she's younger. I'm not really sure what age, but I was going for about 10. As always, please review. They brighten my day so much.

Disclaimer: No, still not mine...

Pain

The rain hurt, but she didn't care. Its acid-like droplets formed a soft red rash to contrast her green skin. That was the most beautiful thing about her. She allowed the rain to fall on her arms and face, instantly creating the contrast that she so loved. Her green skin was awful, and covering it up with the red scars helped. It made her feel more beautiful.

The rain was painful, but she could bear it. It was an escape from her father, from Nessa. Tonight, she wasn't in the mood for a row or an argument. And no one could do anything about her allergy, so she embraced the pain.

Its stain was like life. The pain hurt, but nothing was going to change, so she allowed it to sting. It would fade later, and something new would bring a new hurt. What was the point of avoiding hurt? It was inevitable. Life hurt, so she might as well embrace it and get on.

A/N Oh, and sorry about bad title. Please review...
