A scene that could have taken place during Disciple

Next Disciple:

Clark and Chloe were at Watchtower. While Chloe brewed up some coffee, Clark had been telling her about his recent date with her cousin, Lois.

Clark had been on the receiving end of the look on Chloe's face many a time, and here it was again.

Amusement/bemusement were split down the middle with dancing eyebrows.

Considering how strained their friendship had been of late, he'd take being the brunt of a

joke. He brought himself back to her laughter-filled exclamation.

"Clark Kent's Tour of the Galaxy!" choking back another laugh, she continued. Ok,

is that like the Intergalactic Traveler version of " come up and see my etchings! Clark

willed himself not to blush, and Chloe did try not to dissolve into gales of laughter.

"Chloe, I knew that I could count on your sensitivity and understanding." Clark creased

his eyebrows together. "At least Lois didn't outright laugh at me." Chloe smiled a

slightly apologetic smile. "Sorry Mr. Montague, I should take some pity on you since

you're doing that earnest eyebrow thingy."

"Chloe, it's just that Lois means so much to me, and well, you know how I can be in a

relationship." Clark looked over at his long-time friend, and saw a more serious look on

her face then earlier.

"I vividly recall watching you ride up and down on the "Lana-vator" of love, next floor

endless break-ups and eternal brooding. A frown flitted across Clark's features, as Chloe

continued, "I do know that being with you means so much to Lois. I've never seen her

be this patient or serious about a relationship before." Clark gave a small smile. "We both

are trying to go slow, especially since it's so new to us. Chloe nodded, "And that's a

good thing for the both of you. So, no tours. Just show her in small ways, that you care

and will always be there for her. Do those things, and trust me Mr. Kent, that will win

her heart." Chloe thought a moment, than added, "Oh, and if you don't, make sure your

health insurance is paid up." It was Clark's turn to look bemused. "Um Chloe, super-

powered here." Chloe let out a slight chuckle. "Oh powers you have alright, but being

super smooth with the ladies, not there yet." She poured herself some coffee, while

stirring, she continued. "Just remember, slow and steady will win this race." Chloe

pondered for a moment, " I should start charging for advice." Clark laughed, "Well I'm

glad you haven't, I can only imagine the gigantic I.O.U. I'd have accumulated." Chloe

grinned and said, "Careful Mister, or I will collect. Seriously though, I will try to always

be here for you Clark." Clark gave her a smile that showed all the caring of their many

years of friendship. "Hopefully you know that I will always be here for you too, Chloe."

As Chloe nodded to her friend, Clark received a text message. He looked and saw it was

from Lois. "Uh oh. A 9-1-1 plus message from Lois." Chloe looked up from her cup of

coffee. " I know that slow is good with you two, but if I were you, I'd get over there as

fast as um…superhumanly possible." Clark agreed, and super sped out of there. Almost

wrenching Chloe's coffee from her hand in the slipstream. Just then, the doors of

Watchtower opened. In walked Oliver Queen. Chloe took one look at him and the look

on his face as his eyes raked her up and down. Slow and steady wasn't what her pulse

rate was doing, or the way to go with Mr. Queen. She put down her coffee cup and

crooked her finger at him. The doors of Watchtower closed. Blocking from view Chloe

and Oliver's own little tour of the galaxy.
