Hi, hi! It's been long since I posted a story. "Lost" is on hold for awhile longer, so be patient as I try to figure out the next chapter. To replace the long await, I wrote a story that I had since last year. Inspired: at the debut of one of my friends, I saw two friends of mines (couples) dancing on the floor. Enjoy!
Cheer Up
A year has pass since the dreadful war ended and the men returned home. It is Christmas and a friend is holding a party to celebrated it. However, there's a secret of why this event is happening right now: Miss Hinata has the blues all year long and we--her friends--want to cheer her up.

A year ago, when the war ended, the news about the men returning from the war was heard, and Hinata seem to lighten up from her worried state. Until Sir Naruto--the love of her life--never showed up but the news that he went missing was announced. Her world crumpled down. Her friends and I tried to give her little hope that he could be alive, since the commanding Unit never said about him being dead (though, it could be possible). But it was too late, when all of her hopes were burned down to ashes days before.
Miss Hinata locked herself in that house of hers and no one was able to bring her out. I come by everyday to checked on her and how the house is holding up. We would have a short conversation about the world outside that house, and then we fall silent and she began to space out. It was actually painful to see that from her face--an expression of being lost and burst into tears. (My poor baby…).

She was very stubborn when we tried to persuade her to come out and I was lucky enough to get her dressed and come out for the Christmas party.
Nevertheless, Miss Hinata wasn't enjoying the joyful party like Ino is doing; and I felt guilty to drag her over. I sighed. And then the lights dimmed and the orchestra played a slow, beautiful melody. I glanced at everyone and saw them staring at one certain direction. I gasped and then smiled at the handsome, young man walking proudly in his full Class A uniform with a charming smile, towards Miss Hinata, who is sitting beside me, staring at her clack heels.
Polished-black-shoes appeared in her eyes and a hand extended to her. A familiar voice spoke out, "May I have this dance," asked the young man. Miss Hinata looked up, eyes wide, and gasped softly in surprise. Adorn on her pale face was the blushed I haven't seen for so long. She nodded and hesitated when she placed her small hand on top of his offered hand. She slowly stood up and Sir Naruto led her to the center of the floor, never leaving his eyes from Miss Melody's.
I smiled widely when her hand went around his neck and his around her waist. Everybody smiled at the couple on the dance floor and some of them went to join the dance. Sir Naruto lay his forehead against Miss Hinata's and whispered something to her that made her smiled genuinely and lay her head on his chest and lean closer to him, while Sir Naruto lay his head on top of her head.
I lifted up my glass of champagne and cheered to myself towards to them, "Merry Christmas Miss Hinata and Sir Naruto." I smiled and then took a sip out of my cup.
Short, but sweet, right? No? Yes? Maybe?
