Insomnia

Takes place just after Dance the Night Away

Lily looked up at the beautiful night sky as she sat on the balcony just outside the loft. Everyone was sleeping soundly and she couldn't even close her eyes without her nightmare haunting her. After hearing the boys argue over her, she was afraid that something would come in and ruin their relationship. Theo had, naturally, been afraid that with Casey moving in, she would spend less time with him. Of course that would never be true. Maybe it would feel like less time because her time now had to be split with the two boys. But she would never ditch Theo for Casey, and she would never ditch Casey for Theo. The blue Ranger had always been a little nervous when it came to change.

Then there was Casey's side of the argument. He was the new guy and he claimed to be trying to fit in. Lily didn't think that he had to try; they were all friends after all. But Lily was still wondering why he always wanted to spend his time with her and not with Theo, or even RJ. Didn't that boy need guy time?

"Insomnia?" Casey asked, walking out onto the balcony and sitting down beside her.

"A little," Lily smiled as she made room for him on the little bench.

"What are you thinking about?" the red Ranger asked, looking up at the stars. It was weird how everywhere else in the city you could only see a few stars, but when you were out on the balcony, it was like you were actually in space and all the stars were watching you. It was really beautiful, but Casey had to admit that there was something more beautiful sitting right next to him.

"Just about today," Lily answered, turning to Casey. "Do you and Theo have to fight about everything?"

"He started it!" Casey laughed.

"You weren't helping to stop it. What was with that catching thing this morning anyway?" Lily asked. Casey laughed when he thought about how pointless that fight must have looked for her. Two guys arguing over who would throw and who would catch the girl. He had no idea how Theo would have seen that fight, but for him... being able to catch Lily would mean that he could show her that he was there whenever she would fall. He would always be there to catch her. No matter what.

"It's a guy thing," Casey smirked. Lily knew he was hiding something and figured right now would be the best time to either get it out, or make him squirm.

"So what were you thinking about?" Lily asked. "I mean, if you came out here, you had to have had something you wanted to think about."

Casey smiled. His real intention was to spend some alone time with the girl of his dreams when Theo or RJ wouldn't walk into the room. He saw her on the balcony while getting a midnight snake and figured now was the best time.

"I was just thinking about how beautiful it was out here," Casey smirked. When Lily looked up to the sky, Casey turned to her.
